Seconds after being shot by Alec Baldwin, cinematographer Halnya Hutchins told a boom operator on the “Rust” movie set, “That was no good. That was no good at all.” Hours later, she was pronounced dead.

The haunting final words of the 42-year-old mom, who had been working as the director of photography on Baldwin’s upcoming Western flick, were reported by the Los Angeles Times based on interviews with 14 crew members, emails and text messages.

A few moments earlier, Baldwin had been preparing for a shootout scene inside a church by making sure the camera crew got its angles right for the cross draw with the FD Pietta .45-caliber Colt revolver, the newspaper reported.

“So, I guess I’m gonna take this out, pull it and go, ‘Bang!’” he said as he gripped the holstered handgun, which was supposed to be loaded with dummy rounds, according to the report.

That’s ridiculous.
The Hunt for Red October was excellent.
Glengarry Glen Ross was excellent.
The Edge was good.
Malice was good.

Smaller roles:
MI: Fallout and Ghost Protocol
The Departed

First I’ve heard that it took hours to declare her dead.

I would think she was in shock but.... WHY DID YOU SHOOT ME? would seem to be appropriate.

which was supposed to be loaded with dummy rounds

If they were merely lining up camera angles and practicing draws, I can't think of any reason there were any rounds in the cylinder, whether real, blanks or fake ones.

I liked Alec Baldwin in Pearl Harbor, a movie that was entertaining despite being filled with annoying anachronisms.

Maybe I am misremembering this but I seem to recall at my first gun safety class, I musta been in 4th or 5th grade at the time, the very first class was NEVER EVER POINT A GUN, A FAKE GUN, or even a TOY GUN at anyone.

Does anyone else remember an experience like that?

They're ALL a$$holes!! Take this, from the article:

"The assistant director, Dave Halls, reportedly handed Baldwin the gun that killed Hutchins — and insisted the weapon was a 'cold gun,'"

Then we get:

"Halls later admitted to investigators that he thought he saw three rounds inside the gun, but he did not check them before taking the pistol..."

TWIT!!!! You don't THINK you saw three rounds in the gun, you DID see three rounds in there, and YOU DIDN'T CHECK IT?!?! Buncha arrogant, self-important, amateurs playing "let's pretend" with deadly weapons. These people are dangerous, and they think WE should be disarmed!

The Edge was good.

One of my faves. Yes Baldwin was good but as his character said of Hopkins' billionaire.'Billionaires. Put you in a dangerous situation and you blossom.' Particularly liked how the tables were turned in that flick. Think Jeff Bezos or Bill Gates would flourish in such a situation? I dunno, may they would....

That’s ridiculous. The Hunt for Red October was excellent...

I'll also give him credit for 30 Rock's Jack Donaghy, one of the best-written conservative characters in television.

Baldwin may be an ass, but he's still a pretty good actor.

According to the LA Times.....Baldwin had the muzzle two feet from the trio near the camera when he fired.

Of all the roles, I suspect that his part in Malice is probably closest to his outlook. Especially that speech he made in front of the staff and doctors during the deposition.
‘I AM God’ Fits Baldwin to a tee.

I would concur. He seems a combo of the Malice and Glengarry Glen Ross speeches.
