Selling something is very very far from forcing anybody to use it like Dementia Joe is doing.
President Trump repeatedly refused to mandate vaccines for anybody.
Its like you can buy a Tesla or a Ford EV. It's not not Tesla's fault that vastly more people buy Tesla EVs than Ford EVs. Tesla never forced anybody to buy their cars.

I never said otherwise. But what is the difference between 'selling' and 'pushing'?

True, it does not prohibit them, but this mRNa technology (crispr) is the new technology. It’s no longer used only for covid. It’s being used for cancer and many other diseases. It’s in shot and pill form, creams and crispr’d into food. At this juncture, food is only in relation to covid (for jab hesitant) however, since it is also Executive ordered for our food supply (crispr) it’s hard to say what kind of treatments our food will provide. This food is sold as organic and non-gmo, which is deceptive IMHO. I would kindly suggest following the world economic forum, if you have FB. Not in agreement but because it is very accurate. Best to see what coming and be prepared. My wife has a book club friend that uses it as an investment tool and has done exceptionally well during the pandemic.

Selling is one thing, forcing people to take a drug with penalty of losing your livelihood if you don’t (like Dementia Joe is doing) is another matter altogether.
This is America. We don’t force drugs on anybody and bankrupt them if they don’t take it.

There’s nothing shameful about what he said.

The point he’s making here has nothing at all to do with vaccinations. It has to do with liberty vs. coercion.

A good leader knows that if you want a certain political outcome, you try to change hearts and minds, you don’t use force.

I won’t take these vaccinations because I’m not at all afraid of getting covid19. In fact, I wish I’d get it for the immunity. Maybe I’ve already had it - maybe I haven’t, and I already have immunity from other coronaviruses (the common cold).

But when Trump launched operation warp speed a year-and-a-half ago, the risks from Covid19 were completely unknown - it was wise to act based on worst case scenarios.

At this point, I don’t agree at all with Trump about the vaccinations being a good idea - but I think he is making a larger point here - about freedom vs. coercion - and he’s spot on.

And politically it’s a very smart position, because the Left can’t lay the blame on him for vaccine “hesitancy”, and the Right will appreciate being left in freedom.

That “Trumpcines” are deadly and until he repents and warns everyone against him he is complicit with the ongoing killings.

Sorry.

Hi Paul. I’m not convinced the COVID-13 vaccinations helped
the nation all that much.

Articles like this cause me to think we’ve been lied to.

You won’t agree, but there are just too many articles like
this one out there to dismiss.

If the vaccine was supposed to block or make people be less
ill, how could this former CDC head be able to tell us this
with a straight face?

Hardly anyone who was vaccinated should be dying.

If this guy had said 5-10%, I might have bought off on what
you are trying to say. It isn’t. It’s 40%.

Take care...

Don’t you just love it when a possibly contentious exchange ends with a smile on both faces?

Tough to do and/or find during this day and age.

Stay safe and prosper!

I didn't say "the news". I said the vaccine manufacturers. Specifically the results of their testing of large groups. Efficacy was stated in regard to development of severe Covid. Period. Other evidence does show reduction of transmission, for "original" Covid, but, the problem is Delta increased effective R0 more than the shots reduced it. If you double R0 (at least) and then cut it by, oh, say 30% with vaccines, you still increased that factor in the exponent by 1.4. Then factor in the 30+ % of the population with no reduction at all. We are still better off than no reduction of what Covid can do left alone, but, simple minds won't see it. Go have 'em look at Romania to see what fun can really be, maybe.

the unvaccinated are killing people.

Hey, I've been screaming on here for months about the pathetic messaging / education.

It is true the unvaccinated are sometimes chewing up resources needed elsewhere. I ran into that with my Mom (resources unavailable), to her detriment. But, the more obvious point is that the unvaccinated are too often killing themselves. As those actually in the trenches know.

You lost me there. Who is saying some %?

It probably doesn’t matter. Thing is, I am able to effectively monitor somewhere over 10 thousand people, most in what’s been a relatively hot region. I’m not going to go through the whole explanation again — this monitoring is via contacts (including a number of trusted friends) who are health care pros, through my wife’s work (teacher in a decent size private school - many contacts, and most quite conservative, too), through two churches (total membership around 1k parishioners — though my wife and I don’t know all this group well, we certainly know quite a few, plus the pastors and other leaders), and quite a number of my former business contacts and other friends outside of health care.

Now, I’m sure if push came to shove a few of the above people might disappoint me or my wife, turn out to be untrustworthy, etc., but, as a group I trust them a hell of a lot more than articles on the Web by highly biased people.

So, what do my wife and I hear back?

Of all the people we directly talk to, we know of NO vaccinated person who has died of COVID. To be fair, none of my current contacts has passed unvaccinated, either. Closest would be a very close friend of mine whose Dad I considered sort of a role model: His Dad died unvacc’d of Covid complications. My wife has had 3 unvacc’d classmates, two of whom she knew well, pass from Covid / complications. (Those 3 are a bit spooky, all seemingly fairly healthy and ~ 51 y/o.) The worst vaccine reaction was my wife’s whole body rash a few days after her Moderna 2nd shot, which rash LOOKED scary, but presented almost no discomfort, and went away overnight. (We are not even SURE it was due to the shot, but, the timing is suspect.)

However, expanding the field to people our direct contacts know directly, not including the health care pros, we are up to almost 20 fatalities. (There is a bit of confusion on one: We may have a duplicate report involving a nickname.) ALL were unvaccinated. That is a bit skewed of course because several passed before vaccines were available. But, it is still quite significant, IMO.

The worst vaccine reaction I’ve been able to track down outside of the health care pro’s was a guy who had a shingles-like major body rash (tho’ not as painful as a full scale shingles case, it was irritating) for ~ 4 weeks.)

Now, the health care pros we know DO know of vaccinated Covid fatalities, but, they are running 1:10 to the unvaccinated fatalities. Most of the vacc’d fatalities are people with immune systems that turned out to be too compromised to be fired up properly by a vaccine.

The other side is that none of these health care pros has had as their patient someone with a vaccine reaction worse than a brief admission to the ER (and there is considerable suspicion a good part of that was a psychosomatic reaction to a mild base reaction.)

Although much more anecdotal, I’ll add that I took what I would unvacc’d (etc.) consider to be a considerable risk, recently: A 27 hour cross country bus trip. Oh, boy, if you’ve not taken such a trip in recent years...! And I do have moderate risk factors. BUT, I’m vacc’d (Moderna) and know my way around proper mitigation and have 3M N95 masks. It was pretty clear that to not come down with a big time Covid infection, either I’d have to be dang lucky, or the vacc and the masks work well.

It appears they worked. :-)

I go 1st and foremost by careful observation of real things around me. (It was part of my training.)

I’ll leave it at that.

Keep taking care on your end too! :-)

For the first time since Ronald Reagan, we have a leader willing and able to do what’s right and fight for our freedom - you are constantly running him down - and you’re calling ME obtuse?

Look in the mirror fool.

The guy was the former head of the CDC. I think he has some
credibility. If you don’t, that’s okay.

Redfield has credibility as a virologist. As an agency head or educator of the public...

However, the 40% could well be correct (but counterintuitive) if MD has done a good job of vaccinating the vulnerable.* As explained in this post in that thread:

https://freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/4004928/posts?page=12#12

*This would tend to be confirmed by low case and fatality rates, compared to the previous (non-Delta) wave, which MD has. (MD appears to be exiting their Delta wave, or, “close enough” — this doesn’t work on the way up.)

The people for whom I get information come out of a, on average, moderately poorly vaccinated population. Maybe 50% vacc rate.

Gotta head out, but, I suggest you run the numbers yourself as an exercise: Assume a population of 1 million, 90% vaccinated, a 1:10 CFR ratio for vaccinated vs. unvaccinated persons, and whatever case rate you like. (10% is convenient.) How does that work out? ;-)
