The teenage gunman who opened fire in an Arlington, Texas, school on Wednesday has been released on bond, a day after pulling a gun from his backpack and shooting a 'bully', a teacher and one other girl.
Timothy George Simpkins was being held on a $75,000 bond on three charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon but the 18-year-old walked out of Tarrant County Jail on Thursday afternoon.
Simpkins said nothing as he strode out of the jail in a blue t-shirt, matching baseball cap worn backwards, and jeans.
It's unclear why he has been charged with aggravated assault and not attempted murder or more serious charges, or why the judge granted him bail.
A video of their fight was posted on social media by Simpkins' cousin on Wednesday night in an effort to prove that he was being bullied.
It shows Simpkins - who was identified by police as wearing a light colored hoodie in the footage - being pummeled by the other boy, who is three years his junior, while holding his hands around his head.
Once the fight was over, he went to his orange backpack, pulled out of his gun and started shooting.
He shot the other boy 'seven to eight times', according to one student who was interviewed by police, and also shot 25-year-old Calvin Pettitt, a teacher who had tried to break up the fight. Pettitt was shot in the back.
Both he and the 15-year-old boy remain in the hospital. Pettitt is expected to survive and is in a good condition but the 15-year-old boy is in critical condition.
A third victim - a teenage girl - suffered a graze wound but is no longer in the hospital.

His family and friends seem to agree the shooter was the one being beaten. One person noted that Simpkins sleeves to his hooodie seem tied closed or tied together, making him unable to fight back. Watching video again and again it does kinda appear that way. Anyway, long FB post from his cousin with video.

And to be clear, they’re state laws. But the location/cop/person/judge’s enforcement of it can go anywhere. It can cover trying (doesn’t need actual contact) to hit another person or car when driving. Or sometimes you get a ticket. It’s very random on enforcement. TX, like Missouri and the McClowskys, is a joke state.
Some are saying Simpkins sleeves to his hoodie appear tied together or tied closed so he was unable to fight back. Do you see that in the video?

I knew a few folks in high school that needed shooting, so I’ll reserve judgment at this point.
If you happen to find that video somewhere besides FB ( which is requiring sign-in, which I will never sign up for ), I'd appreciate it. Twitter does not have that video yet.
I’ll bet they were metal jacket target rounds.

Even a 185gr target round .45 will kill most if it’s a COM shot. I imagine he just flung it around firing all over.. Hitting bystanders is a good indication. I’m just surprised he hasn’t been charged with under 21 possessing and certainly possessing at school, which should’ve lifted the bail amount by a lot. Maybe they did though? Letting it slide? Strange.
I saw the video and it was Simpkins beating a smaller boy. Get your glasses checked.
If he’d been a white kid who shot a black teacher in the back and other students....blm/antifa would be burning somewhere down.
Anyway, Trump's bon mot, "the shithole that is Haiti Mansfield" applies here.
There are allegations elsewhere that the 15yo is part of a "Blood Gang", with analysis to parse what the juvenile says throughout -- which as I stated earlier were, even for ferals, odd exultations for anyone to utter during a beatdown, and even then all the way to the end, when I hear something close to what is now being reported elsewhere: "On blood you is a hoe. B**** A** N*****."
Would never have happened in a truly civilized society.
..but the judge would set bail based on charges filed by the AG, which appear to be very minimal.
How are a 15 and an 18 year-old even in the same class? Was the a lunchroom or after-school shooting.
No. The Tarrant DA is a Republican former prosecutor and judge, who became DA in 2015 after defeating two criminal defense lawyers in the 2014 Republican primary. I don’t know how good she is, but she certainly doesn’t have the traits of a Soros-funded DA candidate.
Not likely in Tarrant County. All of the judges are Republican, and I am not aware of Soros funding too many Republican campaigns in races that are contested by Democrats.
Ummmm...yeah!
Do you need someone to draw you a simple picture?
Oh wait, someone has already done that too!
At the risk of repeating myself for the moronic sheeple who can't keep up...
"Perhaps you'll trust the NBC5 article" that posted the arrest warrant...
"light-colored hooded sweatshirt". "Timothy" Simpkins was wearing the "light-color hooded sweatshirt" in the video.
That was sufficient identification and reasonable grounds for the Tarrant County Arrest Warrant for Timothy Simpkins! DO. YOU. UNDERSTAND? LOFL.
Let me repeat. The Tarrant County Arrest Warrant for Timothy Simpkins' arrest was issued specifically because he was officially identified as wearing the light-color hooded sweatshirt in the video. Timothy Simpkins took the beating from the 15yo juvenile, Simpkins then immediately went for his backpack, produced a gun, shot the 15yo juvenile attacked half to death (critical condition), and in the process, shot the white 25yo teacher Pettitt in the back, and grazed another bystander.
1) "Timothy (Simpkins) was specifically identified by a light-colored hooded sweatshirt."
2) "When the witness turns around to check on (Timothy) Simpkins, Simpkins had produced a firearm."
DO YOU UNDERSTAND? NOD IF YOU UNDERSTAND. WHAT TRIPPED YOU UP? PRONOUNS? ACCURATE INFORMATION? LOFL.
This is BEYOND outrageous, the parents in this school NEED TO have an uprising!!
