I agree that each of those guys were great songwriters.
But to say the Beatles were the most over rated musicians is insane.
I have studied their songwriting techniques and the way they created their music and the way they manipulated chords, their chord progressions, their use of chromatic bass lines and diminished scales and transitions. They took from all those other composers. They knew music more than any Rock or Pop group in the last century.
They were amazing songwriters. I play their songs all the time. I never grow tired of them.
I wouldn’t play a Rolling Stone song for any amount of money.

Venturing away from pop/rock music and over to the Country/Lubbock sound: I never did get why this guy was a "legend"
LA Freeway - Jerry Jeff Walker
He did covers of other songs, like the Guy Clark song above. He did write Mr. Bojangles and that is a great song. While working shows in Long Beach (I was the Green Room Go-fer, ) I did 'meet' him. Heck of a nice guy, But IMHO, over hyped.

I tease about the Eagles. I actually have nothing against them and enjoy many of their songs. I just find the whole 'Big Lebowski' thing about them to be hilarious.
They have some good songs, no doubt.
