Some Orange County firefighters who are protesting the county’s requirement that all employees get the COVID-19 vaccine are sounding alarms about the shot, but hospital officials say they are not seeing problems with the vaccines.
This week, some firefighters told county commissioners they are responding to large numbers of people suffering medical complications from the vaccine.
Advertisement “I transport more people, more Central Florida brothers and sisters, that are vaccinated with issues, adverse reactions, or with COVID than I do unvaccinated,” Wendy Williams said.
“On a daily basis, dispatch receives an excessive amount of 911 calls regarding vaccine reactions,” firefighter Jason Wheat said.
WESH 2 looked into those claims, reaching out to Central Florida’s biggest hospital systems.
“The answer is no, we’re not seeing a lot of reactions,” Dr. Tim Hendrix with AdventHealth Centra Care said. “This is a very safe vaccine.”
“We have not seen increased complications or visits to the emergency room post vaccines,” said Dr. Neil Finkler, AdventHealth’s chief clinical officer.
Orlando Health would not directly answer the question of whether it has seen a large number of adverse reactions to the vaccine, but issued the following statement:
“It has been our experience that failing to get vaccinated is the biggest predictor of serious illness and deaths from COVID-19. Orlando Health continues to strongly encourage the community to obtain a COVID vaccine, which can also assist with preventing the spread of the virus that causes COVID-19.”
WESH 2 also asked Orange County for 911 call records related to any vaccine reactions, but a spokeswoman said the agency does not have any special classifications for COVID-19-related calls, so there are no records available.
There is one place to find reports of possible problems: the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS). The database has several limitations, including that anyone can submit a report, which can be unverified and incomplete. There is also rarely confirmation that the reaction being reported is directly caused by the vaccine, instead of coincidental.
Health care providers are required to report deaths and life-threatening reactions to VAERS.
WESH 2 searched the database for reactions to the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines reported in Florida, specifically those that resulted in deaths, hospitalizations, emergency room visits, or were life-threatening.
VAERS returned more than 4,000 results; some were very serious illnesses, others were very minor and the patients were discharged quickly.
The Florida Department of Health says more than 13,000,000 people in the state have been vaccinated.
The Clinton’s are the best proof that there are two realities in America.
Such as?
Believe Caregivers who see patients before institutions
Hospitals have a financial gain from labeling everything as covid and nothing from labeling as vaccine related.

Ha! I guess so. I haven’t purchased a donut in years, obviously!
Having been an EMT in an earlier life, I'll go with the people working at ground level.
All 911 calls are logged and recorded.
They are saved for a year or more depending on the local laws.
Pull those calls! They are considered a reliable public record.
Pull those calls because I want to know the truth.
not gonna start flame wars today—you can do the searches...
And they must enfirce the vax for medicare disbursement. Same as obamas flu medicare money disbursement. That was the modekl and it is successful.
Bttt
I live in Orange Cpunty. I’ve been hearing this for weeks now, even before the mandate.
My thoughts exactly.
They are on the front lines, nurses too. Their rejection of the shot is very telling.
I trust little old me and my 6 close relatives more than any news media, any firefighters, or any hospitals.
6+ months after 2 jabs of covid vaccines, none of us have any adverse effects and none of us got sick with covid.
Me and my wife came back today from a wonderful cruise on the beautiful ship MSC Divina, and thanks to the vaccine certificates, we were ale to enjoy our 37th cruise. No one got sick with covid on the ship, but over-eating and indigestion were experienced by many.
A three day cruise? After waiting so long, to sail?
How far did you sail?
Glad you had a good trip. Can’t wait to see the pics you’ve promised, for a year now!
Hearing what?
That the EMTs are making more calls to help with vaccine side effects than taking people to the hospital because they’re sick with Covid.
The purposefully “don’t see” the adverse reactions. As in this typical case.
‘I Just Want My Life Back’ Says 16-Year-Old Who Developed Neurological Symptoms After Pfizer Vaccine
Sarah Green was a healthy 16-year-old — until she developed neurological problems after getting Pfizer’s COVID vaccine. But doctors said her new tremors, tics and debilitating migraines couldn’t possibly be caused by the vaccine.
In an exclusive interview with The Defender, Sarah and her mother, Marie Green, said they feel helpless because nobody will acknowledge Sarah’s vaccine injury and “nobody can help them.”
Sarah received her second dose of Pfizer on May 4, and immediately experienced a headache at the base of her neck that radiated to her temples. She said it felt like she got “hit by a bus.” She took a nap in hopes she could sleep it off.
The headaches never went away and slowly, over the course of three weeks, Sarah developed small facial twitches.
“The night of May 23, I went to my dad because my neck had started twitching every 15 seconds,” Sarah said.
Green said Sarah would start a word and it was as if her brain would reset. “It wasn’t like she was trying to get a word out — it would just start over.”
After Sarah’s symptoms worsened, her parents took her to Johnston Health in Smithfield, North Carolina. Upon arrival the physicians noticed Sarah had constant tremors. Green said the doctor looked down and noticed Sarah’s right foot also had a tremor, but they didn’t have a pediatric neurologist, so she was transferred to WakeMed in Raleigh once she stabilized.
Sarah’s EEG, MRI with and without contrast and CT scans were normal. After two days the doctor came in and said Sarah had a nervous twitch and needed to see a mental health professional.
During the MRI with contrast, Sarah’s mother said she stopped breathing and had to be pulled out of the machine and intubated. Two hours later the doctor came in and said they were going to send Sarah home.
“They weren’t even going to refer her to a neurologist,” Green said. “They said it was just a nervous tic and she needed to see a therapist.”
Green said the vaccine was not the first thing she thought of when her daughter’s symptoms initially started, but the hospital had her fill out a form of things that might have changed and “when it came down to it, the only thing that changed was the vaccine.”
When Green asked the doctor if the vaccine could have caused her daughter’s condition, he got very defensive and said, “We can’t blame everything on the vaccine.”
Green said the physician’s response was frustrating. “How can you say you don’t know what it is but say the vaccine isn’t the cause?” she asked.
Green said, “As soon as we said it was the vaccine, it was like they couldn’t get us out of there fast enough.”
When Sarah finally got into a neurologist on June 6, Green asked if Sarah’s condition was vaccine-related.
The doctor said Sarah had functional movement disorder and it was not related to the vaccine — although she said she has seen more cases since COVID vaccines were approved because people “stress themselves out over the vaccine and it’s psychosomatic.”
