Capitalism has not served the U.S. economy as well as it could have, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., said Friday, saying the system needed to be improved. "In America, capitalism is our system, it is our economic system, but it has not served our economy as well as it should," she told a Chatham House event. "So what we want to do is not depart from that, but to improve it."

"You cannot have a system where the success of some springs from the exploitation of the workers and springs from the exploitation of the environment and the rest, and we have to correct that."

She has gone completely off of the rails. If folks can not see that we are in severe trouble, you have your head in the sand. I can not begin to explain how much this comment, if true, that she made has upset me. Why Republican leadership is not coming out foaming at the mouth condemning her for this reeks of corruption.

Capitalism is the only system where individuals/companies can work to produce items of value that other people are willing to work hard to earn money to buy. This is known as the "creation of wealth." It does not fall off trees. Government doesn't create it. This is how.

Government then siphons off a portion to feed its endless hunger.

The system works as long as the parasite of government doesn't kill the host. In Venezuela, Cuba, US inner cities, it has killed the host. Democrats want so much control and taxes that they are killing the host. Then we're Venezuela.
