He’s the most-liked national political leader in Canada, wears sharply tailored suits, has graced the pages of a men’s fashion magazine and is followed by starstruck fans on social media. And he’s not Justin Trudeau.
With Canada heading to the polls after a snap election controversially called by Trudeau, Jagmeet Singh, leader of the progressive New Democratic party (NDP), has quickly emerged as the most affable politician in Canada – and a powerful figure who is unlikely to become prime minister.
...His appeal among voters comes as Trudeau has stumbled in the polls. Surveys have found up to three-quarters of Canadians disagree with holding an election during the fourth wave of the pandemic. The prime minister is trailing Conservative rival Erin O’Toole by three points. The rookie Tory leader has spent weeks closing the policy gap between his party and the governing Liberals.
...With his youth and charisma, Singh, 42, has been compared to Trudeau, a leader criticised for focusing on optics over substance and policy. But at a recent visit to Cowessess First Nation in Saskatchewan, Singh drew a stark line between himself and the Liberal leader: “I’m not Justin Trudeau. I’m not like him. I’ve lived a different life. I understand the pain of being not valued, not worth anything. Indigenous people have been made to feel that way for so long. And I promise you, I’ll be different.”

We’ll see what Dominion Voting Systems has to say about that.
Singh could hold the balance of power as it stands now Trudeau not able to put together a majority as the polling stands now.
Neither Trudeau or Erin “No Toole” of the Not Conservative Party will be at a majority.
Indigenous people.
NDP = The party you turn to when the Turd Dough Stalinazi Canadian “Liberals” aren’t nearly Stalinazi enough.
Yeah, not a chance. Today’s polls show Princess Justine Castro headed to an easy majority, alas.
Of course, his first instinct was to support Sikh terrorists https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jagmeet_Singh#Outside_Parliament
It is not done that way. You simply mark “X” on your ballot and they are counted manually. Also, photo ID is required.
The polls are showing a small lead for Justin (Mainstreet and Nanos at about 3-4%). A lot of that is likely concentrated in inner Toronto and Montreal.
LOL no way a majority. Another minority perhaps is his best case scenario.
Goobers like this guy need to go back to Khartoum, or wherever he is from. They appear out of nowhere, and dictate how things will be..i.e. Omar and Talib, or whatever their tribal names are.
GTFO!
“He advocates raising the federal minimum wage to $15 an hour, decriminalizing personal possession of all drugs, and supports eliminating several tax deductions available to the highest-income earners”
Makes Turdeau sound like a conservative.
The Leftist Guardian rag promoting, not “reporting” - as usual.
Also known as Khan Singh, from the Star Trek series.
Khan Noonien Singh.
My apple tree would likely be a better PM.
Mr. Singh is charming, intelligent, charismatic, and an excellent speaker.
He is also leader of a party that is barking moonbat leftist. While slightly less koo-koo than the Greens, the economic ignorance and starry-eyed social dreams would bankrupt the nation at least twice as fast as turd-owe.
We are SO screwed up here...
In Canada we use a PAPER BALLOT that is HAND counted. Slower, but we still have results within 24 hours. EVERY TIME.
But “Blame Canada”, since you use the machines developed for your market.
He is of Indian (Sikh) heritage, not muslim you ignorant putz. Just FYI, the Sikhs were formed to FIGHT the muslim invasion of traditionally Hindu lands.
If you thought Trudeau hated heritage Canadians...
