RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — A crowd erupted in cheers and song Wednesday as work crews hoisted an enormous statue of Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee off the pedestal where it has towered over Virginia’s capital city for more than a century.
One of America’s largest monuments to the Confederacy, the equestrian statue was lowered to the ground just before 9 a.m., after a construction worker who strapped harnesses around Lee and his horse lifted his arms in the air and counted, “Three, two, one!” to jubilant shouts from a crowd of hundreds. A work crew then began cutting it into pieces.
“Any remnant like this that glorifies the Lost Cause of the Civil War, it needs to come down, said Gov. Ralph Northam, who called it “hopefully a new day, a new era in Virginia.” The Democrat said it represents “more than 400 years of history that we should not be proud of.”
Sharon Jennings, an African American woman born and raised in Richmond, said she had mixed feelings seeing it go.
“It’s a good day, and it’s a sad day at the same time,” Jennings, 58, said. “It doesn’t matter what color you are, if you really like history, and you understand what this street has been your whole life and you’ve grown up this way, you’re thinking, ‘Oh, my God.’ But when you get older you understand that it does need to come down.”
Some chanted “Whose streets? Our streets!” and sang, “Hey hey hey, goodbye.” One man with a Black Lives Matter flag was escorted out by police after running into the fenced-off work area. No arrests were reported, and there was no sign of a counter protest.

Mostly the Prussian Generals weren’t fond of Hitler. “Make peace you fool.” comes to mind. They knew the Bohemian Corporal was a screw up. Rommel wasn’t one of the Prussians, he was behind Hitler when they had victories in the beginning. When the walls closed in, he was apparently changing his mind. His name was brought up as the possible acceptable post war leader of Germany. The American and British Generals considered him as a worthy and fair opponent who could be trusted. I wish we had a couple of Rommels today. We sure as hell don’t have any Prussian types.

The sense is once Germany won the war, the Generals with the “vons” in their names would have met the same fate as the Jews.

No, the goal is to erase history so future generations won't know that Western civilization, especially Europe, was white and Christian.
Nonwhites and non-Christians feel uncomfortable growing up amid all those white faces on statues and paintings. All those historic Cathedrals and churches. All those crosses on banners, flags, emblems.
If you look at the product being made by Hollywood and the BBC today, you'd think Europe and its colonies were always richly diverse, despite the efforts of evil whites.
The goal is for future generations of white Christians to think they have no special claim, no reason for pride, in European civilization. If they don't know they've been robbed of their history and heritage, they won't try to reclaim it. Especially if they believe their own part in world history was uniquely evil.

There is an old saying: ‘After Lenin comes Stalin’.
And as I alluded to in my post #32, that’s something that starry-eyed liberals just don’t get. Lenin will make the speeches, and get you motivated to change the world. Then a few years later Stalin will shoot you.
