Nobody has any idea who you are.

Just a big mouth...a dime a dozen......too big a coward to offer any real substance....

Angry man of color maybe...

How many other nicks do you have....that seems to be common in your gang

There is always something in it personal for the most obnoxious like yourself

Of course it is social media which allows folks like yourself to act natural

Here is a link to comments at the Hill where I knew I’d find plenty who spout same crap you do.....do you post there too?

https://thehill.com/homenews/state-watch/571243-robert-e-lee-statue-removed-from-richmond

Trump has been on record opposing these statue tear downs for years and has been attacked for that view by those on the the left and neocons like yourself

I suppose you know better because you’re banging your fist on the table

Magnus also opposed such nonsense ....same as he did signing the MLK national holiday into law

Are you somehow more prescient about judging history than him too

Or Eisenhower....

I could go on and on.

Lee was lauded in his day by all who dealt with him and politicians who governed over the aftermath and for good reason

His only detractors were the radical Republicans who were the progressives of their day and some of whom wished to hang him and all southerners they could get their hands on and install a black largely illiterate GOP voting behemoth in the south so they could exploit it for generations

That did not happen...I’m sure you’re butthurt

I never said Lee was the greatest general nor do I think it’s why his statue was there ...

Richmond and much of Virginia has been supplanted with liberal northerners and people of color...Northram is pandering.

Richmond is already majority black.

Monument Avenue once had five CSA flag officers statues and Arthur Ashe the tennis player

Now it’s only Ashe.

Hope that makes you happy.....out in a state you lost forever ....celebrating another lost formerly dependable state

How can you be so stupid honestly ...

Pandering to race virtue impulses is surrender

If you don’t get that now....you never will.

Did not not read the part where I wrote that I did NOT agree with removing those statues?

Also must destroy all copies of the old song “Waitin’ for the Robert E. Lee.

“Waiting For The Robert E. Lee”

Way down on the levee in old Alabamy
There’s daddy and mammy, there’s Efram and Sammy
On a moonlight night you can find them all
While they are waiting the banjos are syncopating
What’s that they’re saying, what’s that they’re saying
Well while they keep playing I’m humming and swaying
It’s the good ship Robert E. Lee that’s come to carry the cotton away

Watch them shuffle along
See them shuffle along
Oh take your best gal real pal go down to the levee
I said the levee
Join the shuffling throng
Hear the music and song
It’s simply great mate waiting on the levee
Waiting for the Robert E. Lee

Whistles are blowing smokestacks are showing
The ropes they are throwing, excuse me I’m going
To the place where all is harmonious
Even the preacher they say is the dancing teacher
Have you been down there say were you around there
If you ever go there you’ll always be found there
Why doggone here comes my baby on the good ship Robert E. Lee

Watch them shuffle along
See them shuffle along
Oh take your best gal your real pal go down to the levee
I said the levee
Join the shuffling throng
Hear the music and song
It’s simply great mate waiting on the levee
Waiting for the Robert E. Lee

The Ford N Series tractor probably did more to change the world than it is given credit for. Made small time farming viable for decades. Now cotton , corn, wheat, soybeans and maize/milo are back to huge operations in a sense the modern plantation without slaves or share cropping.

Let me ask this question.

What was Lee without Jackson?

Of course, he was also confronted by Grant, who was less awe-struck by Lee.

Inspired by my husband making this excellent point.

(Again, Washington didn’t have that problem so that’s maybe another one up for him.)

I don’t think repatriating slaves to Africa was possible but the north could have offered that as an option...and encouraged it

Uh, Liberia.

Liberia,... officially the Republic of Liberia, is a country on the West African coast...[that] began in the early 19th century as a settlement of the American Colonization Society (ACS), which believed black people would face better chances for freedom and prosperity in Africa than in the United States.

Between 1822 and the outbreak of the American Civil War in 1861, more than 15,000 freed and free-born people of color who faced social and legal oppression in the U.S., along with 3,198 Afro-Caribbeans, relocated to Liberia. Gradually developing an "Americo-Liberian" identity, the settlers carried their culture and tradition with them; the Liberian constitution and flag were modeled after those of the U.S., while its capital was named after ACS supporter and U.S. President James Monroe.

Liberia declared independence on July 26, 1847, which the U.S. did not recognize until February 5, 1862. On January 3, 1848, Joseph Jenkins Roberts, a wealthy, free-born African American from the U.S. state of Virginia who settled in Liberia, was elected Liberia's first president after the people proclaimed independence.

Liberia was the first African republic to proclaim its independence, and is Africa's first and oldest modern republic...

Yep. Arguably the finest American general of all time and a truly fine man.

This is an act of cultural vandalism akin to the Leftists’ new allies, the Taliban.

A feeble effort

I’m talking a serious attempt

My gggg grandfather William Dunbar of Natchez

A barrel maker did repatriate his slaves and arranged to send many other back to west Africa

He was scorned for it

People were fearful early 1800s

Haiti massacres fresh in their minds

I’ve actually been to Liberia

Where oddly compared to south haters here

They love their Dixie roots and are proud of the connection

Self righteous indignity is not contagious everywhere

I just heard Oliver North on this issue

He’s a Virginian

He’s disgusted

I’ll ride with him

What will happen to that monument? Will it be moved somewhere in one piece?

Well, I have an answer now:

Virginia cuts Confederate Gen. Robert Lee statue into pieces

To all of you going on and on, back and forth: This is not a "Southern" issue.

It's an issue of history being erased.

(By the way, more Columbus statues have been destroyed than Confederate statues.)

These statues are (were) works of art, bought and paid for, many years ago, and they are (were) a part of American history.

Oh definitely.

Just think though, if Jackson had not been around at all - at least not to be his “right-hand man”.

Lincoln thought so too. Lee was his first choice to lead the Union Army.

He gave everyone a chance, so I'm not sure that means as much as seems to :)
