People who received the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine had “slightly higher” antibody levels than those who received the Pfizer, now formally called Comirnaty, shot, according to a new small study.
While both vaccines insert molecules called mRNA that teach our bodies how to produce coronavirus antibodies, the Moderna shot uses more than three times the amount of mRNA than the Pfizer vaccine. This, the University of Virginia School of Medicine researchers say, could explain their findings.
So, does that mean the Moderna vaccine offers better protection against COVID-19?
The study was published Sept. 2 in the journal JAMA.
“The thing that will be interesting is figuring out if measuring antibody levels ends up being a good marker of vaccine protection,” study co-author Dr. Jeffrey Wilson, an immunologist at the University of Virginia, said in a statement. “At the moment, we don’t know for sure.”
The team examined blood samples from 167 vaccinated university employees collected anywhere between one week to a month after their second doses; 79 received the Pfizer vaccine and 88 got the Moderna shot. Recipients were 42 years old, on average, and most (72%) were women.
Those who got the Moderna vaccine had more antibodies (about 69 micrograms per milliliter) in their blood than people who got the Pfizer shot (about 46 micrograms per milliliter) — regardless of age.

The CDC very quietly updated its reporting on the number of kids under 18 who have been admitted to hospitals and died from the coronavirus, and the number is very low.

During the same period that the CDC’s stats cover, liberals have been braying that all kids need to be masked to prevent the “deadly virus” from wiping them all out. But the CDC’s new numbers truly show just hat nonsense that fear mongering has been.
To set the stage, there are 73 million children in America under the age of 18.
Last week, the CDC doled out its report covering August of 2020 to August of this year gleaned from data from 260 medical centers across the country.
According to the numbers, 1,790 kids were hospitalized with COVID during that period.
“Median length of stay ranged from 2 to 3 days during the entire period. The percentage of hospitalizations resulting in an ICU admission ranged from 10% to 25% during August 2020–June 2021; percentages were 20% and 18% in July and August 2021, respectively,” the report says.
Ventilators were used in only three percent of those cases.
And finally, the death rate…
During the reporting period, there were only a total of eight “COVID-19-related” deaths among the 1,790 minors admitted to hospitals around the country, a 0.4% death rate among those admitted.
Eight.
Yet, leftists are forcing MILLIONS of kids to wear masks, “social distance,” and even school from home via useless Internet sessions.
Even more absurdly, the CDC itself is demanding masking for kids. Clearly the CDC doesn’t care a whit about real science.

The mass arrival of Afghan invaders, many in need of medical care, wreaked havoc on Northern Virginia’s hospital system — prompting a regional emergency response group to assume oversight after one hospital became overwhelmed with patients and federal officials lost track of where some Afghans were hospitalized.
Area leaders have been asking the Biden administration to pay for the mounting cost of keeping track of the hospitalized evacuees and for giving them rides back to the Dulles Expo Center — where they have been temporarily housed.
