He was. Lt Col, if I’m not mistaken.
Had a friend that was deployed to Afghanistan during one of his visits.
When Congress visits places like that, they’re referred to Congressional Delegations or CODELs. Depending on where they are, either the military or security contractors do the details.
My point...if someone is there as part of a CODEL, they it is improper for them to wear their military uniform. I’m pretty sure protocol and the law prohibit members of the US military from serving in the Congress, in the sense that, you can be a member of Congress. And you can be in the reserves/National Guard. But you can’t be both at the same time. You can’t be Senator Lt Col Graham.
I’m sure someone on here knows the rules/law.
Either way, according to my friend, there was Senator Graham strutting around in his AF uniform, returning salutes and taking in all the military protocols that come with the “rank”. Does anyone think that the One-Star on base was going to give him orders. Wonder how he was addressed? Did the General Officers, that outranked him, address him as Lt Col Graham or Senator Graham?
Oh I cannot wait for the Tucker Carlson show tonight. He will no doubt slam Graham for this. And this is beginning to play out just as I suspected. The military industrial complex needs/wants war. There wasn’t enough war going on before. So we pull out. Leaving a mess that will require more war. And then there is the 80 billion worth of equipment we left. And the military will have to replace all that stuff with new stuff costing 150 billion today because we need stuff better than the stuff we left with the Taliban. This was a brilliant move on the part of the MIC and the warmongering turds like Graham.
Why do these bad guys who wish us harm become a threat if they go to Afghanistan? Why are they not threats wherever they are now?
Why?
Graham wants “boots on the ground” so he can continue his
Pashtun Bacha Bāzī fact finding “missions”
We can spend money for a whole loot of napalm, and do the job in a week! No troops back there, but a lot of flight sorties, with the same pinpoint acccuracy of WW2, and still do the job.
Linsey’s defense contractor donors are pressuring him to keep us in a state of endless wars.
So if we compare recent history to the actual Crusades, are we headed for the Second Crusade or the Third?
You and who’s Army?

Now your talking!
Many are all for it.
Go for Lindsey. Maybe McCain gave you some warfare tips.
If we don’t let the Islamo Nazis in, we won’t have a problem.
And NO WAY should we ever send forces back to Afghanistan for more than 24hrs.
Anytime Lindsay says something must be done or will be done, you are guaranteed it won’t be done, so this means nothing.
... and be re-defeated?
That's insurrection talk /sarc.
The reality is that, yes, we will likely end up back there. Hopefully the people in charge then have a clearer vision of what needs to be done. Islam and communism must be destroyed, and that should be the goal of the US's entrance into any conflict anywhere.
He is smarter than to think that, but he does have loose screws for just saying it in public. Perhaps he is giving some group of donors lip service.
Lindsay must be partying instead of attending intel briefings; once China begins to seriously invest in Afghanistan it will no longer be within our practical reach. He must not have been cc'd on the diplomatic note Biden got.
We should never have withdrawn from Afghanistan in the first place and given our enemies a chance to return to power there, enemies who were allies of the very people who killed thousands of Americans on 9/11, more than at Pearl Harbor. Now they are back in power.
It didn’t have to be. The United States could have held on to a presence there as long as we wanted — with a very low cost in American lives — but no, most of the right and left were vying with each to get the “credit” for ending the war in Afghanistan. There shouldn’t be any credit — it’s easy to end a war by surrender. Anyway, to all those folks who wanted a surrender, you got it. Enjoy.
Thanks for your excellent summary of this rotten bastard.
“not being a resident of the Palmetto State, and not knowing a lot of “inside scoop” about Mr. Graham, I usually respected his stand on a lot of domestic and foreign issues, but this....what the hell kind of ganja are you smoking, sir....?? ya gotta be nuts of you think the American people are going to stand for yet another fruitless invasion of this miserable sh*thole of a 7th century nation.....!!”
