That’s because expanded federal unemployment benefits provided by the American Rescue Plan earlier this year are ending on Sept. 6 — if they weren’t already canceled in your state.

“Devastating” is what the extra $300./week did to the supply chain/businesses and the deficit/national debt.

True.

Of course, the National Debt ship sailed when the Uniparty used it to get Rapin Bill into office in 1992 [Ross Perot].

There are places all over looking for help and advertising great wages.

When the unemployment gravy train derails, people can get off their stinking lazy behinds and go out and work for a living.

Hunger is a great motivator.

Good luck getting hired with those gaps on your resume. Ooops they should have thought about that before taking “Funemployment”.

Fast food is paying workers $12-$14 /hr in small town Tennessee. Many places can’t get enough help to keep the dining rooms open and are drive thru only.

Biden just increased food stamp benefits 25 per cent.
The obesity epidemic will be more severe.

“industrial parks near us are dying for people to apply. One place is offering $1,000.00 a week plus immediate benefits, and a $3,000.00 bonus if you stay 90 days.”

I can concur. Same here outside of Madistan Wisconsin. The peeps they hire are not used to work. When they realize their definition of of work and the real definition of work, they bail out. Complaining of a number of things.

I’ve been at my job 125 days. Promotion happened 3 days ago. Shot caller and the folks around me are bedazzled that I did it in such short amount of time.

Contractor at the checkout at Lowe’s .... when asked how he was doing, he said he can’t find help ... advertising $25/hour and NO takers. He said it’s the folks getting gov’t money to sit at home that’s the problem.

Interesting in light of the fact that obesity is a major comorbitity for COVID.

Everything the government has done since this thing came on the scene is exactly the wrong thing to do if you are really and truly interested in people’s health and welfare and want to help them weather it.

They are deliberately doing everything they can to infect as many people as possible.

Friend works for a hotel and they had to pay $25/hr for a dish washer at the restaurant. That’s $50k a year plus benefits.

That leaves your dishwasher a reasonable budget of about 16k a year for affordable rent.

Around here the average rent for a 1 bedroom apartment is slightly over $1,600 per month. That is $19,200 for the year. Getting roommates and a 2-3 bedroom place does not really improve the picture much.

Everything will be OK, as long as car never breaks down and the dishwasher never gets sick. Better not get stuck with a traffic ticket or a late payment fee on something.

Run that scenario again for $12 per hour and it is not worth walking out the door for that job.
