Those in New Orleans without power. No A/C and it’s over 80 with the Heat Index.

Those staying in New Orleans in Modern Hotels will not have A/C either ?, and no way to open windows.

Emergency Generators for Hotels don’t generally power the A/C system? They power Emergency Lighting. And maybe enough power for one elevator to work for the Fire Dept. to use.

If the modern hotel has electronic doors, during a power outage, those doors will be locked or unlocked??

Also, all of the Security Cameras may or may not be running, and if they are, unless they have night vision, they may not see much at all.

Some Companies in office buildings have installed back up battery power for the computer servers, but if the power stays off for a week, I don’t know how long those back up systems can stay up.

I don’t know if News agencies will even report on such sensitive issues to the General Public.

Some people never learn.

What always amazes me is how some people will evacuate and will show up with small kids and will have NOTHING but the clothes on their backs. No diapers, no formula, no extra clothes. BUT, they will have cigarettes. And if you look carefully, you will probably see a designer purse.

Thank God I have nothing to report. The storm went north, parallel to me instead of straight at me. Last year Laura made mincemeat out of my block, so I was really worried. Ida is currently 100 miles east of Alexandria and I have marked myself safe. I am filled with humble gratitude this morning!

Looks like NOLA's biggest problems this morning are power and sewage...

Ida: At least 1 dead, more than a million customers without power in Louisiana

Haven't seen anything, bloody presstitutes, on the availability of potable water.

Note to federal taxpayers: Prepare for incoming. State and local pols in Louisiana are making a list and checking it twice.

Look like there’s a boil water order for Jefferson parish.

Wonder how folks with electric ranges and microwaves are supposed to do that if the power’s out and they’re not preppers?

Let’s hear it for the mad-on for natural gas.
