I am concerned about the 82nd Airborne and lead elements of the Marine Corp who are on a rescue mission could result in a massacre of them by a large number of Taliban supported by PLAN weapons.
1 They are in the middle of Kabul not in fortified positions.
2 No close air support.
3 Non combat rules of engagement.
Seriously and correct me if I’m wrong but have you seen even one video of Taliban fighters in great numbers in or around Kabul? I have searched and even on Aljazeera there is no video of the victorious army. None.
All you see are little snippets of 4-6 Taliban in a pickup or standing around on the street. Even at the airport no video of Taliban numbers. This does not seem to point occupation forces. I’m beginning to seriously doubt the whole thing.

The French covered the English retreat at Dunkirk, and then the French who were rescued to England went right back to fight in the South of France for the rest of the war.
They are holding massive demonstrations to stop vax passports and mandatory vax for French HC workers. One hospital there has gone on strike indefinitely, until the mandate is removed. With a worldwide shortage of HC workers, not a good situation. I have friends over there and I can assure that they are not about to give up.
remember in Gulf War 1, reporters asked which beach in Kuwait we would be landing our troops. Of course the military did not answer such a stupid question. sarc/

I knew a SF guy who thought French Special Ops and the Legion were exceptional.

I’m guessing, but -
1. We are the prize in Kabul. Anyone in an American uniform is a potential target. French, German and others were minor players in this war.
2. the french and others have low profile squads of police that can travel light. US Army units typically roll as a convoy of several units. Easy to track and block.
That was quite the cast.
That makes sense.
After all, America is the Great Satan, and the primary enemy.
biden doesn’t even care if we notice that he doesn’t care about the Americans. He will get his reward soon, and have a happy, rich retirement, unable to understand what happened to the country that he betrayed.
