‘Pakistan Living In Fool's Paradise’: Fmr J&K DGP Warns As Taliban Takes Over Afghanistan
Republic ^ | 17 August 2021 | Vidhyashree S

J&K former DGP, SP Vaidya, said it is the failure of America's policies and the policies of NATO countries that the Taliban has taken over Afghanistan.

As the Taliban nearly took over entire Afghanistan following the withdrawal of US troops, J&K former DGP SP Vaidya spoke to Republic TV on the failure of US policy and the impact of the Taliban on South Asian countries. On Monday, August 16, a State Department official announced that the American flag was no longer flying at the US Embassy in Kabul amid evacuations from Afghanistan's capital.

SP Vaidya said, "It is a seizer of power with guns. I would say it is the failure of America's policies and the policies of NATO countries."

Speaking of the possible impact of this violent breakdown, Vaidya said, "People of Afghanistan will have a dark lifestyle for ages. This situation will also impact South Asian countries".

Explaining his observations of some Pakistanis celebrating the Taliban's takeover, he said, "The hardline policy of theTaliban in Afghanistan will also impact Pakistan. The terrorist groups which operate against India like Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed will now have training camps and sanctuaries and havens in Afghanistan".

"Pakistan thinks that it has got an additional hand so that it can attack India and initiate its peace process in Jammu and Kashmir," he said.

"Pakistan has a very active role in helping the Taliban and I personally feel that it will provide safe havens to Al-Qaeda and other organizations like ISIS which are present in Afghanistan," he added.

He further informed that Pan Islamic terrorist organizations like ISIS and Al Qaeda will impact Europe and America as well. He said, "If these countries think they are safe, then I personally feel they are also living in a fool's paradise,"

Ummm...we were there for 20 years. It’s not like we pulled up, robbed the liquor store and left. We are halfway around the world, you are next door. You do something.

There is nothing anyone can do to transform tribal Afghanistan into any type of democracy.

Does anyone know of a single democracy in the middle-east?

Does anyone know of a single country in middle-east which is not Islamic?

Does anyone know of a single country in middle-east which is not ruled by military dictatorship or by mullah’s?

Does anyone know of a single country in middle-east which is has existed as a stable democracy for just a few decades?

When the picture is so crystal clear, why our foreign policy experts can not see it?

It’s a failure of 1350 years +/- of Western Civ to develop an effective strategery to neutralize and ground out Islam.

Now, in the US, we have the Marxists working to overthrow Western Civ. The Marxists and the Jihadis tend to form up an alliance of convenience to wreck Western Civ with the mutual expectation that after that happens their side will prevail over the other.

If my life were long enough to see that conflict conclude, I’d put my money on the Jihadis.

Indian history informs India today of how it cannot think a megalomaniac power in Afghanistan-Pakistan will leave India alone (the Pashtun dominant Taliban are every bit as much like the Mullahs of Tehran in that sense). That was the route - from Afghanistan through Pakistan - by how the Muslims took such a large swath of India at one time.

That, or it makes me give up quickly and move on to something else. It seems to be an epidemic on FR (ISTBAEOFR) :).

“When the picture is so crystal clear, why our foreign policy experts can not see it?”

Probably because there’s big money in weapons and opium. Also, Islamic terrorists can be utilized as weapons themselves.

It’s an Indian publication written for an Indian audience. It probably makes perfect sense to them.

Israel is the only non-Muslim country in M-E. They are a thorn for the Muslims.

Turkey’s Erdogan is not even close to being a democratic leader. He is as strong a dictator as any one and an Islamist to boot. Tunisia is probably the only Muslim country which can be called a democracy. But try to build a new church there.

Israel, yes. Lebanon is also not quite a Muslim country in the ME.

Erdogan himself is not democratic. however the country is still democratic.
