The scenes out of Afghanistan are infuriating and tragically predictable.
It shouldn’t really come as a surprise that President Biden and the geniuses surrounding him have made such an almighty hash of the withdrawal from that godforsaken country.
Look at everything else he has messed up.
His first act in office was to dismantle hard-won Trump-era border protection measures. The inevitable illegal migrant surge at the southern border has turned into an unchecked invasion, with national security and public health risks that will ricochet through history.
At this stage, we can confidently say that Joe Biden has the reverse Midas touch.
In Afghanistan, it didn’t have to be like this.
The humiliating scenes of Americans evacuating from Kabul’s airport were avoidable, as is the specter of American helicopters, planes, Humvees, weapons and ammunition in the hands of our enemies.
But Biden was caught unawares.

I appreciate you and am sick at the betrayal of the sacrifices our military & their families made, as well as for the women and children in Afghanistan (God protect them since Biden & their own President did not).
Also, in California I’m not allowed to own many types of firearms - regardless of my spotless record - but my tax money is used to leave the ta1iban free gunz & ammo, vehicles, buildings, control systems & infrastructure, etc.
Meanwhile, where was Biden while Kabul fell? Silent. Having another holiday at Camp David. The White House tweeted out a still photo of him taking notes while watching a video conference of his national security team.
Probably faked, but never mind, that photo was still incompetent enough to expose a CIA station chief. Dementia Joe's team really is that stupid. Seven months into this circus of clowns and we're already reduced to praying for the least possible casualties.
What makes me angriest about this past weekend with Biden at Camp David is what he did vs what he didn’t do. He didn’t do anything about Afghanistan. What he DID do is call a few rogue SCHOOL DISTRICTS in Arizona and Florida. A few districts that wanted to OVERRIDE their state’s decision to allow parent choice on masks. A few districts that want to FORCE masking. And he wanted to support those districts who hate parents and children.
So that’s Biden’s priority last weekend. Fight individual parents’ wishes for their children to attend school maskless (it’s not like parents are asking for all masks in K-12 to be banned; just mask choice), while screwing up the US withdrawal from Afghanistan. Pathetic!
Such illusions have a way of crumpling when they make contact with the real world. It sometimes takes a while but here and now, it's happened. What is left is a whole bunch of proggies hiding under their beds and hoping the whole thing goes away. It won't.

Biden seems to continue to blame Trump for things going wrong, but Trump had plans for the border that were working, apparently had a different plan than Biden for leaving Afghanistan, yet Biden tries to blame everything on Trump. Think where we might be right now if Biden had just left things alone. Of course sooner or later a new crisis would come up that Biden would HAVE to make a decision on & experience tells us that it would be the wrong one.
