Gov. DeSantis "As of today, the Camping World Stadium in Orlando will serve as a monoclonal antibody treatment site, open 7 days a week, with a capacity of 320 patients a day.
Expanding access to this treatment will help our most vulnerable stay out of the hospital and save lives."
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) has unveiled a set of monoclonal antibody centers to help in the battle against surging COVID-19 cases in the state.
In a statement on Thursday, DeSantis shared the state has opened a monoclonal antibody center in Jacksonville, saying that state officials will explore adding other long-term locations outside of Jacksonville.
A monoclonal antibody is a treatment that can help prevent the COVID-19 virus from attaching to host human cells. Medical workers can provide this treatment to patients who are 12 years or older, according to the news release.
“Monoclonal antibody treatments such as Regeneron have had a major impact in preventing hospitalizations & saved lives,” DeSantis wrote in a tweet. “We are utilizing monoclonal antibody strike teams to bring treatment directly to our vulnerable populations in long-term care facilities.”

Claims that migrants are spreading COVID-19 a 'distraction,' NIH... New York orders health care workers to be vaccinated
The new measure comes as Florida has become the epicenter of the recent surge of COVID-19 cases in the U.S., as the highly contagious delta variant is hitting the unvaccinated hard.
DeSantis has been an opponent of creating new COVID restrictions and is butting heads with state school districts over implementing mask mandates for children.
According to John Hopkins University data, 51 percent of Floridians are fully vaccinated.
THE HILL
Its hitting the vaccinated just as hard. Heck, they are they we have variants.
That site could probably handle 1,200 patients per day if they did subcutaneous injections at half-dose rather than infusion at full-dose. The FDA recently approved MAB shots for situations that require it. This seems like a perfect situation for it.
Thanks for the post. I just sent another email to my two State reps and one State senator in Idaho asking them why Idaho isn’t showing leadership like this.
I sent the first email about three days ago. No response from any of them. So very disappointing.
Just yesterday my wife was suffering horribly from the effects of COVID-19. I managed to get her to the emergency room of our local hospital where they offered her the monoclonal antibody treatment. She agreed to take it.
She’s been improving steadily ever since.
Lenzilumab can be taken 8n Florida. They need it to be at as many locations as possible.
I have read that it’s not as effective as they hoped it would be.
Right now, Regeneron is the best treatment available, and it’s pretty successful.
Gov. Ron DeSantis is a smart cookie and will outfox the Dems all the time. Though I think this mono-clonal antibody treatment is costly. Who is paying for this?
India is having great success with Ivermectin. India manufactures many medicines, so easy for them to crank up production on this

Guess which state still has the highest influenza activity?
Hmmmm....
On Friday, (yes, the 13th, of all days), I woke up with a 101 degree fever, aches, malaise, etc., and chose NOT to undergo this treatment, partly as a test case to see how bad this really could be and largely because of confidence in my own immune system. Now it's day 5, I am still running a slight fever (99.5f), but am fully functional. I have not been tested to see if it's Covid, but chances are pretty good that it is.
That said, this whole thing, for me at least, has been no different than any other viral syndrome I have experienced in my 60 year lifespan. If the word 'Covid' had not been invented, I'd chalk it up to "just another virus".
FReeper terart was unable to get monoclonal antibody therapy in time and passed away. No word on the rest of their immediate family who were also very ill. That family fell victim to misinformation which delayed potentially life-saving treatment. The story is documented here: https://freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/3974843/posts
This move by DeSantis is critically important. Whether vaccinated or not, anyone showing symptoms of COVID-19 who tests positive for it should be receiving this treatment early. It’s the same treatment President Trump got when he was so sick with COVID-19. It’s very effective and often turns people around within hours.
That’s almost certainly RSV cases: https://www.abcactionnews.com/news/state/cdc-warns-rsv-cases-spiking-in-florida-other-southern-states
The map you linked tracks all “Influenza-like illnesses”. Actual Influenza cases are typically in the single digits nationally this time of year.
Joe, glad to hear you are recovering and will have natural antibodies. Thrilled Regeneron worked for your wife. If I may ask, what regimin, if any, did you follow pre-exposure?
Ding, ding, ding - we have a thread winnah!
Virtually none. I think I wore a mask about three times in the last year and a half, and that was because I was going to visit the dermatologist.
I eat well, exercise regularly (both cardio (running) and weights), and keep my weight under control (5' 10", 170 lbs). That's it. I like keeping it simple.
Did they give your wife the infusion in the hospital or did you have to wait to go to a facility the next day?
Looking back, I am now sure I got infected on the Carnival cruise back in February 2020. The ship was packed and the crew was mostly from SE Asia. After the cruise I had a funny dry cough for 2 weeks and it went away by itself with just salt water gargling. Also had loss of smell. But on March 1, 2020 covid was still not in news so I had no idea what it was.
For a clearer picture read her posts. The Hospital trapped her. I know someone who died the same way, trapped in the hospital, put in a coma and on a vent, and died. There’s a reason why FLCCC and East Virginia Medical School recommended “IF POSSIBLE DO NOT INTUBATE”. It does more harm than good when the lungs are so damaged they can’t take in O2. Have to fix the lungs first, that’s where IVM works for many, and vents don’t.

My God, just read that thread, sounds very similar to my experience with 2 main differences. I did get the REGENERON treatment (barely), and I lived most likely because of it. I had problems getting the treatment in a timely manner having to wait 3-4 days to get it after being discharged from hospital with that listed as out patient treatment. I was expecting to get treatment the day i left hospital, but had to wait 3 more days, and a day or two later and they would have been restricted to give it to me as that would be 10 days after the infection, and j would have likely been in terart’s situation and died also. There’s got to be a better way and there is no excuse i has to wait 3 days due to their incompetence, and terart’s case where they died due to them also getting the runaround long enough to where they couldn’t get the treatment. Sending prayers for that family. Any news on the rest of the family as a few also has COVID?
It sure could have happened to you. When people are scared and fighting for their life there is no excuse for what happened to you.
People need to try to get the info from their doctors (good luck) on the procedure set forth if you test positive. I am doing that this week. I want to know EXACTLY where to go and what to do when the positive test comes back...especially if it is on a weekend when the GP offices will not be in.
Myfreedoctor had talked about trying to get people infusions but they are so backlogged I dont know if they ever got around to it.
That is smart to have a game plan ahead of time. I’m thinking has i not been living in Florida, getting the REGENERON treatment may have been declined completely or delayed long enough to where i would have been outside the 10 day window and be SOL, and take my chances in ICU on a ventilator. I’m going to check out the myfreedr.com site. Someone on another thread who sounds like they work in health care was saying it was a scam and Nigerians get your ss# and credit card # and you get ripped off and get phony medication. Have you ordered anything yet? I think i remember you saying another thread you got a 30 day supply of some treatment.
