The Airport is closer to Kabul than I thought. Trying to maintain a perimeter and get out any of the Americans and other Westerners, let alone Afghan allies, is going to be difficult at best, impossible at worst.

Leaving Bagram AB, the way we did, in the middle of the night, is looking to be a colossal mistake.

If they really are that close it’s really a cluster. They can probably take out inbound and outbound aircraft just with shoulder launched SAMS. Hopefully they (Taliban) know this will be suicidal. But then again, do they care?

WE aren't in charge anymore, the Taliban are. All of these cute little retribution ideas won't matter one bit if we can't evacuate our own safely.

We'll be lucky to get most of our people out without many being killed.

Biden screwed this withdrawal up royally. Taking all of our troops out and now having to scramble and fly them back in to see if they can save our folks as well as themselves.

This won't be pretty. It will be a bloody mess. The Taliban don't care about the airport only to the extent they can't stop US and Afghan corroborators at the exit. Beyond that, these people live in the stone ages.
