LIVE FROM KABUL: @RichardEngel reports the Taliban has "taken over the civilian side of the airport" while the U.S. military is evacuating from the military side.
If the airport falls, thousands are stranded there and will die.
Including Americans.
What a Cluster Fornication………
Agree—and we need to fly in a team of Pentagon, Intelligence and University Afghan experts to assess the situation...If there is no available space parachute them in...

the civilian (southern side) of airfield, also working to clear large crowds civilian side + 2 separate incidents armed individuals engaged with US forces who responded to “hostile threat” not known if 2 dead are afghan civilians or affiliated w/AQ, ISIS or other group

Military evacuating the military side? Where the hell to?
They’ll also need a career “community organizer”.
Napalm. Get them before they get us. The target couldn’t be better and if separated by the runway the time couldn’t either.
Bagram is only 70 clicks from the Embassy. Which would be easier to secure, an air force base or a civilian airport? /rhetorical.
There is no honor amongst the top brass. We’re told Xiden went against their advice. Yet no one resigned in a public display of love for their troops. Now 5 to 6 thousand brave American soldiers and marines jump back into harms’ way. It doesn’t take a military genius to predict everything that happened. They HAD to know. But they all went along. It is on the Joint Chiefs and the four stars as much as it is on Xiden and “I was the last one in the room” Harris.
At this point, if we manage to get our people out, it will be because the Taliban allowed it.
Looks like military aircraft parked to the north of the runway, civilian aircraft to the south of the runway.
And all the top 'brass' at the Pentagon to 'protect' the Biden Administration 'elites'... They can parachute together.
shelter in place they said yesterday

There are as many as 15 check posts manned by assorted Taliban groups, Daesh, Jaish and Lashkar between Kabul’s diplomatic enclave and HKI airport.
I'm for dropping the lot of them. Not so much for the parachutes.

Eight dead in Kabul airport chaos: Evacuation flights halted after US soldiers kill two armed Afghans, three are run over by military jets and more plunge to their deaths from fuselage - as UN say Taliban have started ‘targeted killings’
We left them more than enough already so screw the parachutes.
Do they really need parachutes? I am a fan of the flying ahhhhhh! And I can’t think of a better bunch.
Bagram should be mentioned in every thread.
Nail them to the wall on this...it did not have to be this way.
Biden and crew own this. Watch Harris try to claim she was against letting go of Bagram.
