By the middle of the week, as cities across Afghanistan were falling like dominoes to the Taliban and U.S. diplomats appeared increasingly at risk, President Biden’s plan for an orderly end to the United States’ longest war was quickly falling apart.
On Wednesday evening, Biden convened his top advisers to assess the ominous turn of events. One by one, in the cramped Situation Room in the White House basement, National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and Secretary of State Antony Blinken outlined the administration’s options for ensuring the security of U.S. personnel. Biden asked them to return with recommendations.
When the aides reconvened early the next morning, things had gotten worse. The Taliban was taking control of more and more of Afghanistan’s 34 provincial capitals, most of them seized without a major fight, and the militants were bearing down on Kabul, the national capital. After being briefed by Sullivan and Austin, Biden gave the order to activate a plan deploying troops to secure the Kabul airport and create an evacuation route for Americans on the ground.
Blinken called Kabul, where the U.S. Embassy’s top diplomat was already presiding over packing and document destruction, and told him most embassy personnel would move to the airport. At U.S. Central Command in Tampa, military leaders ordered intensified airstrikes on militants driving toward Kabul, hoping to slow their advance as U.S. personnel and their allies scrambled to get out.

So who...
Ran all the banks?
Flooded with Africans?
Where did you find that loon?
Demented old fool expects the same idiots that caused the problem to solve it ....
The administration is about as effective
as a cat covering crap on linoleum.
The lame stream media calling babblin' biden's chaotic withdrawal "orderly".
Agitprop from and for the useful idiot minions.
We could throw rainbow flags and vaccines at the Taliban—that should keep them at bay.
“National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and Secretary of State Antony Blinken outlined the administration’s options for ensuring the security of U.S. personnel. Biden asked them to return with recommendations.”
Whereupon the returned to their corners and conferred privately on the back channels saying:
“We screwed up, no way out of this that is good. Better now show how bad we screwed up yet, there may be a way out of it yet so don’t go over the top with additional troop recommendations. Yea, make it look like we just misjudged instead of totally cocking this thing up. Should never have abandoned Bagram.”
They planned for “orderly”.
They got cluster&^%$.
He wandered into another site uninvited.
Orderly? It is a nine line free fall cluster fluck and they know it. I just pray not too many people get killed.
Expecting the enemy to cooperate is always a mistake.
They mistake they made was calculating that they could cram down America's throat and get away with it.
I've never been one ascribe malicious intent to that which can be explained by mere incompetency.
The events in Afghanistan cannot be explained away by mere incompetency. As things develop and shake out, I predict we will realize the full nature of the malicious intent, but by then it will be far too late. Unless, of course, the CYA attempts at damage control succeed. This is unlikely, if for no other reason than they are not serious but merely going through the motions kabuki theater to show they tried.
I’m for referring to Milley as the man who lost Afghanistan but won the hearts of ANTIFA
Another BuckFiden screw-up, how usual.
Biden is going to pay the ransom just like Obama did at Benghazi.
And then the Democrat Party Crime Syndicate will get a cut.
I’m asking for some real honesty. I’m asking for folks to dig deep and put aside their political leanings for one moment.
Has the Left or Democrats EVER done anything right?
I’m not just talking ‘morally’ right. We know the answer to that.
Have they ever done anything that, when implemented wasn’t a complete and utter disaster?
Biden thought they asked if he wanted them to pull out an Afghan from the chest because his feet were cold...
He never meant for any of THIS to happen...

In justifying the decision, Biden’s aides argued that the president’s hands were tied by Trump’s February 2020 agreement with the Taliban, which committed the United States to withdrawing in 2021.
It was Trump's agreement that (1) had a schedule, (2) had a deadline, and which (3) the Taliban and the Afghan government agreed to. The WaPo tactfully neglected to mention Dementia Joe's team's decision to abrogate the agreement, reset the schedule, and change the deadline to 11 September. And, (4) for the WaPo to give Dementia Joe credit for being a peacekeeper as opposed to that warmonger Trump.
Well, the fiction fell apart and this is the ridiculous narrative they've spent all week coming up with. Joe's team, including the WaPo, blew it. Period. They turned a more or less graceful departure into a humiliating debacle and are now looking to deflect blame. More of this, much more, is to come.
It is difficult to figure out intent, because it depends on which actors you are talking about...
Many inside the beltway have one objective—steal as much money as possible while they are there. They couldn’t care less about “policy” despite all their public statements to the contrary. In their case policy failures are neither intentional nor accidental, just collateral damage.
