☺️ Coming in #1 on my list is the most chauvinist song ever composed.
Baby Baby Don’t Get Hooked On Me - ‘cuz, I’ll just use you then I’ll set you free’ 🙄Mac Davis

Might in the minority here but from the first time I heard these songs they were automatic "change the radio station or turn the volume off songs":
Light My Fire by The Doors
Sympathy for the Devil by The Rolling Stones.

I get sick hearing “Small, Small, World”!!
and “Grandma got run over by a reindeer”
and “Bird is the word”

As I’m typing this, I’m listening to ABBA’s “The Day Before You Came”.
It’s a clever song because one really must listen to it closely to understand it.
It’s actually a very sinister, creepy song. In a good way. It’s definitely not a happy song.

I am torn between “Unchained Melody” (WAY too full of itself) and “Shout!”. But I “love” neither. I love to hate them.

A silly saccharine song, and not in a good way. Pretentious.
That one is on my playlist. Yes, it is pretentious, but it works because it is pretentious in the same way that William Shatner as Captain Kirk is pretentious. Richard Harris successfully sells the song like he means it.

I know its title isn't fitting with the playlist, but it still sorta fits, even though it's a leftist, anti-American song. Just the title for me and some of the lyric
Rush actually had Barry McGuire on his show as a rare guest. Turns out he was pretty reasonable.

"Spirit in the Sky" by Norman Greenbaum proclaims, "I've never been a sinner, I've never sinned. I have a friend in Jesus." I don't know of any Christian denomination that preaches that, and it seems to contradict the basic teachings of Christianity. Nonetheless, it rose to #3 on the national charts.Greenbaum was Jewish (after a fashion). Not a surprise he wouldn't get the theology right.
I loved his low-charting follow-up
"Canned Ham" (which also sounds like an odd title coming from a Jewish man). I will use the opening riff on my radio show one day when I have a radio show.

The ‘singing’ is terrible on that song.
The musicians are actually quite good.
Her voice sounds like a sleepy little girl with a tummy ache.
