Hollywood legend and noted Republican Clint Eastwood has sent a “message of support” to conservative talk radio host Larry Elder, who is running to replace Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) in the California recall election, Elder reported Tuesday.
Elder has emerged as the main contender in most polls, out of a field of more than 40 candidates vying to replace Newsom. Other leading candidates include Democrat Kevin Paffrath, a real estate investor and YouTuber; former San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer; former gubernatorial challenger John Cox; and former Olympian and transgender activist Caitlyn Jenner.
Paffrath may be benefiting from party identification; Newsom will not be listed as a Democrat on the recall ballot due to an oversight by his campaign. State officials attempted to exclude Elder from the ballot on a technicality, but he challenged and won in court, further boosting his statewide profile.

Eastwood is a patriot
He should really do a sequel (or a prequel) to the Every Which Way but Loose movies.
All other GOP candidates need to withdraw and throw their enthusiastic support to Elder. BUT Elder has to withdraw his statement that Biden won fair and square.
A West Point Grad of 65 was a real combat man. I recall he was head of Templeton USA. Yes, he was one of the first to be a CFP grad. Sadly he died. I will never forget all he did for us at Omega/CCS.
Doesnt Clint have a movie coming out in which he both stars and directs.
Yes. I’ve seen the trailer and it looks pretty good. Not bad for 91 years old.
The below thread lays out with the replies just WHY Larry is saying that. He knows California and he knows the voters - he wants to win and he’ll play the game the same way the dems do. I trust Larry to know what he’s doing. I listened to him for years when I lived in CA and never found reason to disagree with him. My only chance of seeing/hearing him now is when he’s a guest on FOX cable. Whoever thought he and Leo Terrell would ever agree on anything? Larry didn’t have to change his position but Leo sure did and aren’t we glad?

Who are you talking about?
After the RATs steal HIS victory Larry will change his mind.
That would be rather ironic, don’t you think?
I still listen to him (until recently) on one of our local talk radio stations in Florida. He always struck me as a straight shooter- he’ll debate with anyone and win. He might make a good governor. But he’ll have his hands full with the state legislature.
Maybe Elder wants the California voters to judge him on his ideas for the future of the state and not on the election of 2020. It makes sense to me and shows me he knows the state and its voters. Why get bogged down in an argument that would dominate the campaign and an issue he can’t do anything about?
We listened to Larry when we lived in CA, and always agreed with him. And, yes, Leo’s “conversion” was spectacular!
I agree with your take on the others. I think Larry stepped
in it when he made that statement, but it wouldn’t help him
to retract it now.
Conservatives and Leftists alike, that lean in his direction
won’t be voting for someone else based on that comment.
I wish folks in our party would remain silent on issues they
don’t quite get. Better to be a bit vague, than step in it
up to your chin.
After the RATs steal his election Republicans can make the point for a long time that the RAT party is inherently racist. That it cannot tolerate a Black man who has escaped from their plantation and went as far as stealing his election to keep him down. Talk about Jim Crow !
Attaboy, Callahan.
