Larry Elder Is Playing to Win

Conservative California gubernatorial candidate Larry Elder recently said in an interview that, “I do believe that Joe Biden won the election fairly and squarely.” Elder’s response understandably invited outrage and condemnation from countless conservatives, who maintain that the 2020 election was stolen.

Catturd, an unapologetic conservative with an impressive Twitter following of more than 540,000 accounts— myself included — tweeted “Good morning - see ya later Larry Elder. He can't hold up under pressure - and yes I saw the full video, which wasn't much better. His poll numbers are about to plummet.” I understand the response from Catturd, which doubtless echoes the sentiment of millions, but it’s unnecessary.

What’s important to understand is that Larry Elder has not betrayed conservatives. He’s running for governor in a blue state.

Larry Elder’s response was strategic. Larry Elder is playing to win. I know this is a novelty for Republicans but let me explain.

I live in the state of California. It’s a blue state. Gavin Newsom was elected Governor in 2018 with 61.9 percent of the vote. Mathematically, in nearly every scenario, Larry Elder will need to get Democrat and Independent votes to win in the recall election — that is IF a majority votes to recall Newsom.

Elder isn’t running for president of the United States. He’s running for Governor of California. This is an important difference. When Democrats run for president, they lie and pretend to be moderates. This is because they understand America remains a majority conservative. But California is not America.

Barack Obama concealed his radicalism while he campaigned, even campaigning against gay marriage. Joe Biden was chosen and marketed as a moderate. Bill Clinton did the same — pretended to be a moderate. What they said on the campaign trail was radically different from what they did after they were elected. They did this because they wanted to win. So does Larry Elder.

Larry Elder is taking a play out of the Democratic Party playbook. He understands the political landscape in California. Conservative votes like mine are secure. Are we going to vote for Caitlyn Jenner instead? There are 41 candidates on the ballot. Larry Elder has the conservative vote — he’s the most conservative candidate. But he needs additional support to secure a victory.

Many in California believe Newsom’s recall is inevitable. That’s only half the battle. If a majority votes to recall Newsom, one of the 41 candidates with a majority of votes will be elected to replace Newsom for the remainder of his term. Californians must vote both against Newsom and for a replacement. Does this make sense?

In order for Elder to win, Democrats must either vote to recall Newsom or otherwise not vote at all, while every Republican in the state votes to recall Newsom to overcome the obvious disadvantage of numbers in the state. Newsom won in 2018 with 7.7 million votes to 4.7 million for the Republican candidate. That’s no small obstacle.

While Democrats are certainly fed up with Newsom, they are activated by Trump hatred. They all have Trump derangement syndrome. If Elder makes the 2020 election fraud an issue in the recall election, he will hand Newsom ammunition to activate an otherwise unenthused Democrat voter base, which might calculate Newsom is a better alternative to Elder, or another, and vote to keep Newsom.

This is a tight rope act — one of the most delicate and complex political campaigns we have ever seen. Larry Elder’s success hinges on Californians maintaining their outrage towards Newsom’s incompetence, arrogance, and hypocrisy. Democrats will be voting against Newsom, rather than for another candidate.

In order to win, Larry Elder must execute the tried and true Democratic Party tactic of appeasing his base, while also maintaining his appeal (in this case) to more moderate Democrats, who could just as easily decide to vote to keep Newsom as they could to get rid of him.

In a landscape in which Elder's base is vastly outnumbered by Democrats, he cannot risk giving Democrats a reason to vote for Newsom. Elder must campaign on the aforementioned issues that ignited the fury of Democrats against Newsom, which led to this historic recall.

Would you rather Elder say what conservatives want to hear and see Newsom remain in office or would you rather Elder not say what Democrats don’t want to hear and see Newsom recalled? RINO’s lie to us all the time by saying what we want to hear and stab us in the back — like the 19 senators who just sold us out by voting for the fake infrastructure bill. I’d rather Elder lie to Democrats and stab them in the back.

Larry Elder is playing to win. It’s about time we play the game. It’s about time we turn the tables. I’m sick and tired of losing with dignity. It’s time we win by whatever means necessary. Like the Democrats.

One ought to be honest rather than tell politically calculated fibs. On the other hand if I still were in California I would likely vote for him because the alternatives are far worse...but then I am not typical of the voters there.

Either he was lying to get elected, or he was saying what he honestly thinks.
Neither possibility is very appealing.

If we view politics as war, which the democrats clearly do, then “All is Fair.” They won the war because the Republicans refused to fight. They still won’t fight.

Elder is in it to win it.

All is fair.

Let’s win this war.

Beyond questionable. The people of CA have less control over the election process than they think.

It’s possible he calculated that rather than get side tracked from a issue he can’t do anything about..at least not as a candidate..just say whatever and get past it?

“Conservative California gubernatorial candidate Larry Elder recently said in an interview that, “I do believe that Joe Biden won the election fairly and squarely.”

Yes, true, and after saying that he went on to call out the media for their role and their hypocrisy that they share with the Dims about the “Big Lie” theme.

He hits the media and their partners, the Dims for their hypocritical over the top hyperbole concerning Trump and what Trump thinks about the 2020 election, versus what they claimed and continue to claim regarding the 2016 elections and so called “Russian Collusion”. The Dims and their partners, the media NEVER accepted Trump as legitimate and on a mountain of falsehoods tried to remove him. Yet it is Trump’s opinion about the 2020 election they call the “Big Lie”.

Larry ran them up one side and down the other on their “big lie” theme.

Larry Elder would be a fine choice for governor of California, over the odious, hypocrite Gavin Newsom.

BUT, voter fraud is BIG here - mail-in ballots, ballot harvesting and now this:

California’s recall election may be an exercise in futility unless voters put in safeguards to stop a downloadable ballot system from leading to ballot harvesting in order to keep unpopular Governor Gavin Newsom in office.

The ‘Remote Accessible Ballots for Eligible Voters’ is being touted by California Secretary of State Shirley Weber as a way for voters to download ballots in the ‘comfort of their own home.

I sister in California has one issue with the Newsome recall movement.

She thinks the persons who initiated the recall effort should have to be in the public more speaking and supporting why they want Newsome removed; outlining their positions against him, but she says she hears nothing at all from them in public. She said she hears some stuff coming from those running to replace Newsome, but nothing from the initiators, backers starters of the recall effort.

Is it that they are out there campaigning for their recall effort, or is it the media that just does not cover them? Anyone in California with an answer.

I said this a few days ago and I’ll say it again:

In California, it would be the kiss of death for him to say otherwise. Even to remain silent would peg him as a dangerous Trumper and as undermining the election process within which which he is currently fighting to win. This way his critics have one less club to bludgeon him with. The man has the savvy and speaking experience to use his words effectively. It is way past time to take off the kid gloves. The Marquis of Queensbury is just some pansy in London. This is war, and all in love and war is fair.

"Larry Elder Is Playing to Win"

You have to play to win always.

The cities of San Francisco and LA are going to the liberals and there are so many illegal aliens in California right now.

Larry Elder will fight against the liberals and I will send him a check to win.
