Tropical Storm Elsa has developed in the central tropical Atlantic Ocean, about 2500 miles east of the U.S. mainland. Interests in Florida should monitor updates to the forecast for this system, but it is too soon to determine what, if any, impacts could occur there next week given the uncertainty in the long-range forecast.Elsa is moving at a rapid clip, which may limit strengthening in the short term. Also, the potential interaction of the storm with the mountainous land masses of the Greater Antilles later in the forecast period could disrupt the circulation somewhat.

Heads up Florida and Gulf of Mexico. Could be a wet and breezy Independence Day.

Thanks for checking in. While Elsa is a distant threat, it is prudent to get the word out ahead of the long holiday weekend.

I had a bet that the Frozen snow queen would show up in the first five posts. Older folks would think of Born Free and the lioness.

We went from crispy dry to sopping wet in a matter of a month. My pasture is bright green, which is awesome. This is going to be a rain event, plain and simple.

Beautiful green pastures! Hopefully, not too much standing water for breeding ‘skeeters.

I had one big dangerous tree taken out yesterday.
The man with the tall lifting equipment lives in the neighborhood. His wife drove the big truck with the hauling trailer and she brought her two young daughters (8-12) who picked up the small limbs and branches as he was way up in the air cutting.
This couple has adopted five kids and are real religious. His company name is Creator And Associates, he said that he was the associate. They all had COVID-19 last month.

My pastures slope down into a lakebed. I’m very careful about my bird baths and areas where water might pool. Definitely not a fan of the skeets, but the local pond, when not barren, does a good job keeping the local bufos fed.

Elsa. I believe that was the name of the lion cub in the movie “Born Free”. I can still hear the Andy Williams theme song.
