A while back, an Indian (foreign) student in an apt. complex had two or 3 King Cobras in a cage/box in his apt.— was reported and the UNC area Chapel Hill police came and got them for the NC zoo to have. These are the largest cobra’s up to 20 feet and they are snake hunters— they eat other snakes in the wild.
A zebra spitting cobras is much worse. The “spit” can blind for life-— as the natives know the way to neutralize the spit so not blinded is to pee on the eyes (yes— open the eyes and pour or piss on them. Imagine that in the urban setting— up strolls the police officer as the event occurs... heh). It apparently does work— would have to look up the antidote mixture— probably a pH neutralizer to the spit.

“It shall be unlawful for any person to own, possess, use, transport, or traffic in any venomous reptile that is not housed in a sturdy and secure enclosure. Enclosures shall be designed to be escape-proof, bite-proof, and have an operable lock.”
Police did not say if the owner of the snake will face any charges related to owning the snake or having it escape.”
