A veteran Colorado police officer who shot dead along with a 'hero' civilian in an attack at a suburban Denver shopping district was ambushed by a suspect who expressed hatred toward law enforcement, authorities said.
...
The suspect was identified as 59-year-old Ronald Troyke by Jefferson County coroner Annette Cannon.
...
Without elaborating on what he did, Strate called Hurley, of Golden, a 'true hero who likely disrupted what could have been a larger loss of life.'
Witness Bill Troyanos told The Denver Channel it was Hurley who shot the gunman after making sure bystanders in the area were safe.
...
Not much is known at this time about the suspected gunman. According to court records cited by The Denver Post, Troyke was convicted of third-degree assault in 1992 and DWI in 1994. He was evicted from his home the following year, and in 2013 he declared bankruptcy

Federal Law Enforcement is the most corrupt way to “enforce” (infringe) laws.
We want to be like Mexico?
Federalize the police!
No corruption down there whatsoever. /s
It’s because he’s black Jim.
Friendly Fire?
How long did it take President Biden to express his condolences.........oh wait............
Quite a few on here have argued with me over my saying that there’s a chance the shooter is a member of a Congress.
Victim(s) are the wrong color
I just assume that local LE = FED LE x 2.
That’s the man who shot and killed the shooter. The ‘Hero’ depicted in the article.
That’s sad. Obviously, I can’t say that I’m surprised. I do think it was a very standup thing for the police chief to come right out and say without equivocation and from the very beginning that Hurly was a hero. Clearly, the police want their cop to have due process, but they’re not going to run away from what happened.
Yeah, they are. Qualified immunity. If a cop killed the hero, it was a reasonable mistake of fact, even if the perp was laid out dying and Hurley was covering the scene, brother cop roles out and tags the only living guy with a gun.
Rule #17, put your firearm away as soon as the threat ends, really.
The greatest threat to an armed citizen is a cop who may think he's a perp. Flashing a badge will save your life.
“I like your style :) you’re sort of a ‘cut to the chase’ kinda person aren’t you?”
Thx and I was correct too.
yw. Actually, I saw a video this morning of the perp. He appears to be a lily white maggot. DM has the video posted.
