Singer Macy Gray argued in a recent op-ed that a new flag is needed for the United States, saying Old Glory is 'tattered, dated, divisive and incorrect' - and providing a design of her own.

The comments at the site are majority against her. To be honest I’ve never heard of her prior to this.

Personally, as far as her musical abilities go Macy Gray might be the best female vocalist to come out in the last 75 years since the Golden Era a big band music.
But that’s just my opinion, and from a musical perspective only.
She also played a crazy black b**** in Denzel Washington’s “Training Day” and did a damn fine job of it.

As I see the rapid development of Black racist nationalism un the last year my thoughts keep going back to the awful final season of Man in the High Castle, where Blacks forced the Pons out of the Pacific states and instituted a Marxist govt supported by Chinese Communists. A lot of their script dialogue is showing up in things like this Macy Gray piece. Coincidence ?
The hated Confederate battle flag flew over slavery for 5 years. The US flag few over slavery for over 2 centuries. If you hate the Confederate battle flag, then you should REALLY hate Old Glory.
The Confederate battle flag is a piece of history and nothing more, but the left demonizes everything in their hatred.

I bet this nitwit sat back and pondered how brilliant she is.
Someone should point out to Macy that her flag design excludes the visually handicapped. Not those totally blind of course, they can’t see any flag. Rather those with limited vision or the rare complete color blindness.
I’m not joking either. When designing graphics for the government you must maintain 70% contrast in value between adjoining colors. The three components of color are hue, saturation, and brightness. These can also be called shade (red, blue, yellow, etc), brightness (intense or muted), and value (how light or dark).
The visually impaired may not see color strongly, but if the contrast of value is enough they can still make out the image they’re looking at. Contrast in value is why we can look at black and white photographs and still see an image. A color photo of different objects with the same value converted to black & white looks like one solid shade of grey.
Our current flag has strong contrast between the red, white, and blue elements. Not so with this ugly mess. To people with limited vision the brown and black stars will look the same, and both will tend to disappear into the blue field. Nice job Macy! Not very inclusive!

This is the main reason they want to push for DC Statehood, it would require changing the flag. And well, if we have to change the flag anyway, why not create a new flag that “better represents who we are today.”
I guess these people don’t understand or don’t care that the white stars represent states and not skin color.
And I said, first they got rid of the “Redskins”, now they are going after the “Washington.”
They will end up calling them “The Nation’s Capital Football Team”. It’s already started.
Macy Gray should move to a new country. We know why destroyers want to kill all traditions.
