How do we know that?

Tech class doesn’t cover this.

> All the wireless telephones that people use around their house are in the 900 ghz range,

MHz, not GHz.

900 million cycles per second, not 900 billion.

In Windows 10, there is a way to disable the mic; the IT guys at work were able to do it.

It’s mandatory for a defense company to have secure computers, due to the products.

It’s also possible they ordered the laptops configured that way; there were no means of copying files from the laptop to an external device such as DVD disk or thumb drive.

It uses radio signals of some sort. They can be jammed.

I am sure they made themselves “immune”, etc. to all computer viruses, hacking, etc. so NOONE will be able to stop their EVILS.

There's an overlap between the 902 - 928 MHz (33cm) US Amateur band and the 902-928 MHz US/Canada/Brazil/Australia license-free band commonly used for utility meters, cordless phones, telemetry, and baby monitors.

All the license-free stuff on that band is limited to 4Watts EIRP.

In contrast: amateur radio operators in the US are limited to 1500Watts into the antenna, with no radiated power limit.

I keep telling my employer this. They keep making equipment for this band anyway.

I just looked on the ARRL's website to find the number of active, licensed ham's herei n the U.S. It's 823,237. By contrast, there are 331,883,986 people living in the United States.

So the percentage of Ham's is 0.25% assuming I did the math correctly. I'd say the odds are in your employer's favor in not getting interfered with in any meaningful way.

My car assumes where I am going in the morning!

That’s scary. Is your car named Christine?

“Maybe it’s my phone.”

Had that same creepy thing happen several times. Makes sense they would use it to spy. It’s probably the only thing that everyone always has with them everywhere. I hate these gadgets and I hate that they have become practically indispensible.

When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it.

We use the simple/cheap wireless doorbells. If we don’t anyone using them, we just unplug the inside ringer or remove the one by the door held there with double sided tape.

However, I do have a question for the computer geniuses.

We use Comcast business as our internet which phased in our old Comcast phones and internet sites.

Starting about 3-4 months ago, our Chromebooks and smart phones started recognizing our HP printer as a wifi site.

Then, whatever chromebook or smart phone is trying to use one of the 7 Comcast wifi sites can’t connect to the internet, and the printer will not work. I have to disconnect the connection and go to a Comcast wifi.

I don’t remember making our HP printer a wifi site. I just did the simple wireless connection as per the instructions.

“My fitness watch, yesterday, informed me that payday was tomorrow.”

One of our a little younger female in laws stays connected like a combo NSA/CIA higher up.

She has the latest Apple phone, desktop, apple note book, and the newest Apple Watch Series 6 - Apple to help her keep connected 24/7.

She belongs to Facebook and other internet groups. She can’t understand why we have old Android phones and never use Facebook.

She loves her Apple Watches because they help keep her connected 24/7. However 2 long time dance clients told her that they were cancelling their classes if she kept answering her phone and using her Apple watch during their paid time.

Apparently, the main people, she keeps in constant contact with are the other women in their cul de sac and a few friends back on the east coast.

I'm totally with you on most of your rant but we part company on the self-checkout. I love the self-checkout. Gets me in and out of the stores quickly. I guess I'm a natural whiz at scanning things as it never gave me any trouble. I ignore the "place in bagging area" messages as I just toss the items back into my cart and bail. Nobody gives me a hard time.

I have boxes in my car trunk to place the items for toting into the house so I don't even worry about bagging anything.

It should have been called “Palantir”.
