National Review writer: Maggie Haberman Is Right
National Review ^ | June 3 | By CHARLES C. W. COOKE

Posted on 06/03/2021 10:45:27 AM PDT by RandFan

Two days ago, the New York Times’s Maggie Haberman reported that Donald Trump “has been telling a number of people he’s in contact with that he expects he will get reinstated by August.” In response, many figures on the right inserted their fingers into their ears and started screaming about fake news.

Instead, they should have listened — because Haberman’s reporting was correct. I can attest, from speaking to an array of different sources, that Donald Trump does indeed believe quite genuinely that he — along with former senators David Perdue and Martha McSally — will be “reinstated” to office this summer after “audits” of the 2020 elections in Arizona, Georgia, and a handful of other states have been completed. I can attest, too, that Trump is trying hard to recruit journalists, politicians, and other influential figures to promulgate this belief — not as a fundraising tool or an infantile bit of trolling or a trial balloon, but as a fact.

Yep. It’s one of the consequences of the Twitterification of journalism.

I’m not certain if it’s an intended or unintended consequence.

The Constitution is our founding document and the supreme law of the land - carved in stone unless duly amended. So says every American patriot.

That’s my thought, too. I always called these little bits and pieces....The Daily Bone....for the media. They’ll chomp on anything.

Let’s do it.

What does the Constitution say about removing a seated President?

Is Trump trolling these journalists?

Must be...

I would think so. I'm sure Trump knows that the scenario described is unconstitutional.

Even if the audits prove Trump and the others won, it will not reverse the election as the electors have already spoken.

“CHARLES C. W. COOKE” was a never Trumper.

This is bunkeroo from Cooke and he’s probably trying to make fools out of the Trump supporters hoping they will buy it and make a lot of noise and come off like idiots.

Don’t fall for this crap. You’ll end up with egg on your face.

That’s exactly right......and hilarious they cannot let go of Trump.

However with that I have to say they’re not saying anything at all about what Obama’s up to. They’re hiding his whereabouts and what he’s doing......like they did Biden.

It doesn’t work that way. A fraudulent slate of electors was selected in several states. Those fraudulently selected electors can’t “speak” on anything. Yes, under our system the electors have broad latitude to choose whichever candidate they wish, but they must first be the duly-elected electors, and not a bunch of frauds.

This isn’t about it actually happening, it’s just another false story to make Trump look bad. Next thing you know, they’ll be saying he hired hookers to pee on a bed.

Presidential election, yes. If the two Senators from Georgia and the one from Arizona are shown to have won by fraud, they can be removed.

The bigger point is contained in the word "illegitimate". States would be well within their rights to ignore any legislation passed by an illegitimate Congress and signed by an illegitimate President.

Next comes force of arms-but then the military is in a quandary. It's why they're in a hurry to try and weed out those who would refuse to follow unlawful orders.

Trump doesn’t contend the stuff that this writer contends that Trump contends. Rather, Trump speaks very clearly about the shenanigans surrounding mail in ballots in states that changed the rules without the consent of their respective state legislatures. Trump is rational and lucid and quite correct in asking for forensic audits of these ballots. And not for the purpose or overturning the election, but for ensuring the integrity of the next election.

I have to agree. Even if it's proven that Trump did get more EVs, I don't see how, Constitutionally, Biden/Harris could be removed. It's never happened before (afaik) and there's no precedent for it. The ultimate solution is to make certain that the elections in 2022 and 2024 are not stolen like the last one was.

“Maggie Haberman is Right”

No, she simply lied, and National Review is running with it. Pitiful.

Maggie says it. NYT cites Maggie, WaPo cites the NYT, Charles Blow cites the NYT, unnamed govt official cites Blow.

There 5 sources.

Of course not. Cooke makes pretty clear that there is no such constitutional process, and I would assume Haberman agrees.

Impeach or remove via the 25th amendment. Chain of succession is established. No provisions for reinstatement.

Can electors rescind ? And then what ?

I see the Harris/Biden/Obie/Klain/Holder/Valjar/Deep State administration being recognized as illegitimate and neutered. Completely ineffective, ignored by an incoming R majority in ‘22. It won’t make a damn bit of difference when Harris moves into 1600 PA.

If someone is telling DjT he can be reinstated, I’d like to know their basis. I don’t believe Sydney Powell directly said DjT would be reinstated, but that he should be....if there is a God in Heaven.
