Mexican drug cartel members have recently taken to targeting police officers in their homes — then torturing and killing them, according to a disturbing new report.
The Jalisco cartel has vowed to wipe out members of an elite law enforcement force known as the Tactical Group in the central Mexican state of Guanajuato, the Associated Press reported Sunday.
The cartel even had a banner printed up and hung from a building in Guanajuato city that declared: “If you want war, you’ll get a war. We have already shown that we know where you are. We are coming for all of you.”
“For each member of our firm (CJNG) that you arrest, we are going to kill two of your Tacticals, wherever they are, at their homes, in their patrol vehicles,” the message continued, referring to the cartel by its Spanish initials.

Several random thoughts:
Even as a child, I understood how hyperarchies worked. I think my first thoughts on the subject involved Batman. No police inspector would dream of calling in Batman to solve his problems. It would be an admission of his inadequacy. Why have a police commissioner or a police force when you could have Batman? The same goes for Sherlock Holmes. Scotland Yard would prefer not solving the crime if the only other option was calling in someone else. The same is true for Mexico. They’d rather die than call in the United States. If they did call in the US you could expect whoever did it to be replaced pretty damned quick.
The way crime works in general is, the criminals don’t, on average, have anything to do with ordinary civilians. It’s rare for criminals to target civilians because they have nothing to do with civilians in their day-to-day activities. The people they lean on, enforce on, or whatever, are generally people who have used their services. Either the victim has borrowed money, bought drugs, or in some way committed a crime. Think about why a particular murder hits the news. It is because the murder of someone with no identified connection to crime is relatively rare, compared to, say the weekly body count in Chicago or Detroit. And, that is exactly why there are so many murders in Chicago and nobody cares. Because it’s criminals killing criminals and government considers this a self-solving problem.
In America, it’s considered such a bad move for a criminal to kill a cop that you’ll often find organized crime tacitly pointing the finger at the perp rather than suffer from the scrutiny that such a murder involves. But when the cops are crooked themselves, they are just rival criminals and can be dealt with accordingly. I sat in a sidewalk café in the Baha and watched a cop, indistinguishable from a US cop, stop Americans and demand money. While I sat there, he stopped four cars and extorted fifty dollars “or, I arrest you.”
While there, I had breakfast every day in the same resturant. Each day a cop car would arrive, a cop would get out and present a clipboard which the owner signed. I asked what it was for and he said, “Used to be the cops would pick someone up and that person would disappear. Now, the new director of the police has each business sign a report each day stating that the police did not pick up anyone from here and take them away yesterday.”
Maybe the cops being picked up and killed are honest men. But the reputation of police in Mexico says that the organizations are just criminals with uniforms. Mexico is really a lawless place. In such a place the criminal organizations see the police as a rival gang, not as the enforcement arm of a civil society.
So are drug legalizers on FR.
The Mexican cop killers are not making the drugs themselves.
I believe the Fentanyl comes from China. The DEA should be able to deal with the supply problem.
Perhaps the Tactical Groups should be rotated around Mexican states on a yearly or semi-annual basis.

Maybe Mexico can recruit cops born and raised in Alta California.

It is now pretty clear that drug legalization should not be state-wide or nationwide.
Jurisdictions should have the local option of being drug ‘dry’.

This is what happens in a failed state. Mexico needs Israel to come clean their house. The narcos must be dealt with like terrorists.... as diñare them, drone strikes their houses, etc.

Will be the norm in the American West now that the Mexican populations are approaching majorities in CA/AZ/NM/TX.
Pretty much there now in a lot of the major Western cities.
If Mexico had the intestinal fortitude, they would target the leaders of the cartels, torture and murder them. Maybe take out their families also. Then keep working down the chain of command until they had no effective leadership. If they want war, you give them war.....a war that they cannot stomach.
