No Mitt, you are at a disadvantage because you have no core principles, no ethics, no morals, no values.

“Does he ever shut up?”

No, but this time I think he’s saying something that most of us would agree with. Maybe it is better for a child to be reared by his mother rather than by a ‘childcare’ worker.

Many at the school I used to teach at were surprised when the music teacher announced she wouldn’t be coming back next year. No, she didn’t get a better job offer, she’s decided she wants to stay home and care for her newborn.

Milt, if this is how you turned out by staying home with mom, perhaps you should have spent a bit more time outside the house.

Exactly...I liked my mom at home. I liked being home for my kids, too.

It does seem like the administration strongly prefers getting kids out of the home and getting both parents into the workforce

There, fixed it for you Mitt.

There are MANY problems, issues, and things with Willard.

But broken clocks and all that... He is 100% right here.

Reading the article is always a good thing. This is absolutely stunning:

"Children develop better in an environment where they can engage with others besides their family members," St. Hilaire-Finn said. "Allowing a child to be in a setting where they can develop their cognitive and social and emotional skills will allow the parents to go to work and not have to worry about their child falling behind by the time they're ready for kindergarten."

Willard's reply is, for once, spot-on:

"I guess what you describe is a perspective on the part of the administration which I find contrary to personal experience and contrary to the perspective of many parents. I would think that as we think about the policies that we want to have with regards to child rearing we would give authority to the parents to make that decision as opposed to an administration to make it for them," he said.

Here is what they REALLY mean

Children develop better in an environment where they can engage with others besides their family members we can manipulate the kids and turn them against their family," St. Hilaire-Finn said. "AllowingFORCING a child to be in a setting where theythe state can develop their cognitive and social and emotional skills will allow the parents to go to work and not have to worry about their child falling behind by the time they're ready for kindergartenthe ability to love and protect them."

I suspect Mitt Romney and his wife passed their values to their children. There are many areas where I disagree with Mitt, but the duty of parents to train their children to be hard working, considerate people is not one of them.

Parents, not the state, have that responsibility. Proverbs 22:6 expresses it like this: "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it." If more parents taught their children to be responsible for their choices and actions, our country would be better off.

Too many are too quick to declare themselves victims of some imaginary discrimination. Step up and own your decisions.

Like a stopped clock, occasionally even Mittens gets it right. Very occasionally. This is one of those incredibly rare moments.

“Mitt comment is sarcasm...”

Yes. Please, freepers, read a little bit of the article before responding. We can all agree that Mitt is usually pandering to the left, but on this one, he is right.

So you actually agree with Biden on this?

That daycare and schools are better than parents?

Yeah Mitt, all those little bastards out on the streets, hanging out in gangs, beating up, stabbing, killing innocent people, have all done better because they weren’t raised in a two-parent working family, made up of one man/one woman.

alternatives? :" Biden wants the state to raise the kids. "

Exactly true !
What better way to indoctrinate than beginning at an early age ?
That's what the current public school system does through the teachers unions now.
Want to see amoral children ?
They come from the fatherless homes
and where women are employed just to make financial ends meet.

I generally believe a child does better if a parent stays home, most often the mother.

But in Mitt’s case, he would have turned out a lot better if his mother put him in a plastic bag while a new born and threw him into the sea duct taped to a cinder block.

While his sarcastic comment is correct, it is not because of why he thinks.

Families need two people earning income (and therefore need day-care options) because the stinking government is taking half our livelihoods. If the government would just butt out and stop spending so much money, families would be able to afford to have a parent stay home to raise the kids.
