Rev Megan Rohrer was elected bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America's Sierra Pacific synod on Saturday, becoming the first transgender person to serve as bishop in the denomination or in any of the major Christian faiths in the US.

He did indeed wonder if, when He returned, He would find faith.
There was a point in His earthly ministry that He had said some hard things and as a result many who had been following Him stopped following anymore.
At that point He turned to the twelve and asked if they would leave too.
“To whom shall we go?” Peter replied, “You have the words of eternal life.”
Now we live in a time when just saying people should have good morals is something people can no longer bear to hear and besides that many now cannot tolerate simply acknowledging biological facts.
There is always a remnant.
When everyone else seems to be going away we can cling to the Lord, and also by our lives say to Him as He proverbially asks us if we will leave too: to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.
So cling to the Lord.
Do not be like the men of Benjamin who clung to their brethren who had murdered the women. Do not be lot Lot’s sons-in-law that clung to Sodom.
When you cling to the Lord know that the world will hate you because it first hated Him. We also have His promise that He will not let us be tried beyond what we can bear.
There are more of us.
There are lots of layers to this trainwreck of a story.
This person uses third-person plural pronouns. I still haven’t figured out the significance of that.
This person got kicked out of the church youth group as a teen when he came out as a lesbian.
This transgender lesbian is the father of two children.
In other words, they is (sic) probably just the right kind of person to lead an apostate religious outfit.
We flaunt God’s design and declare ourselves better than God and the sole arbiters of what is Good.
Myself included. I am done with them after this.
Almost as bad, saw a ‘Baptist minister from Harlem shaming everyone into getting the vaccine, claiming that God would have us do so, you know, for other people’s sakes. States are running ads conStantly now trying to shame people into getting the mazks
More money, but Frankie’s hanging onto it…she or he (I can’t remember how it started out) will find a horse’s head in his/her bed if he/she tries it!
Icky. Satan is roaring
While there are some mentally ill trannies, the majority of them are simply people who reject God’s word, and have given themselves over to a Satanicly inspired lust, perversion, which drives them sexually. God told men and women not to act and dress like the opposite see. The trannies said ‘who are you to tell us what we can and can’t do. We will do lwhat we want to do!’
Like most faux Christians, they have created God in their own image because their hearts are desperately wicked. Now they are not even content bending God to their will (or so they mistakenly believe), they are forcing God’s churches to bend to their will as well, and sadly some churches who were never God’s to begin with apparently, are complying.
ELCA is a Sodomite cult. The are not Lutheran.
“ Now they are not even content bending God to their will (or so they mistakenly believe), they are forcing God’s churches to bend to their will as well, ”
I agree with you. Deep down, they know they are not right. They demand we validate their normality. I just can’t do that.
I grew up in the Wisconsin Lutheran Church synod. It was Bible based. The pastor was a man, the church council members were men and the women who were active in church affairs were chaste ladies, married or waiting to be married.
The marriages blessed in church were M/W. We kids not confirmed were in Sunday school while mom and Dad were up in church. I knew Jesus loved me and we said grace before meals. I knew not to talk to strangers and I didn’t know what “queers” did during sex until later when someone in college explained it to me.
I may have been sheltered and naive but I was happy.
Not that I think my faith in Christ and personal theology is head and shoulders above anyone else.
In the mid-late 1980s my wife an I were up to our eyeballs in our local ELCA church. I was a board member and would on occasion fill the pulpit. At some point I decided to do a study on the actual historic theology of Luther and started to read a biography of him (Bainton).
The first real cause for pause happened when I asked the pastor if I could borrow his copy (I assumed he had a copy) of the Book of the Concord. He refused.
A while later he asked me my opinion on installing a lady on the board who with her husband owned the local strip joint.
I was asked to give the sermon on one of 3 weeks he was on vacation. The other two who gave the message were simply awful, painful to listen to. Why he chose those particular people to do this task was a mystery to me.
My message included an offer to accept Christ as Savior. No one took me up on the offer but several (older) members thanked me for my message one told me she had not heard anything that inspirational in decades. Here is little old me non-seminary trained but I will admit that I put a lot of time into the message, practiced it a few times and tried to present the gospel as best I could.
By 1989 my wife an me were fed up enough to make the move. I would never get close to an ELCA church ever again and would in general avoid any of the mainlines. By the 1980s they had watered down the gospel message so much that even to my theologically untrained ear they were basically a religious social club with no real goal in service to Jesus. It has only since gotten worse, a lot worse. I pass by an ELCA church on my way to work every day, they do “drive-through” Ash Wednesday services and fly the rainbow flag and still the parking lot is empty on Sundays.
I remember thinking to myself towards the end of our Lutheran experience that if Martin Luther were sitting next to me he would get up mid-service, go outside and take his name off of the the sign out front.
Free will and concupiscence and evil. If it aint one thing it’s all three.
They can’t leave, the heretics must destroy it for everyone else.
Catholic Church, USA, everything.
Sociopaths rise to the top—that is why there are so many evil people leading large institutions.
“At this rate, when Christ returns there won’t be many left to greet him.”
Matthew 7:13-14 NIV
13 “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.
only a few find it.
Deuteronomy 22:5 NIV
A woman must not wear men’s clothing, nor a man wear women’s clothing, for the Lord your
God detests anyone who does this.
HELLO?????
Nope me either. Sin is sin (again, there are some that are truly messed up mentally, and they need help, but the majority are people who reject God’s word, and have replaced it with their own word)
Jesus didn’t make sex outside the marriage a-ok just because the woman at the well demanded that He do so. Nope, He said go and sin no more. That is what the Lutheran church should be doing to the trannies, not coddling the sinful practices by legitimizing it and declaring it a-ok according to the church
Missouri synod member here... My church has made it very clear that they will never adopt this sinful behavior...
It’s time for the conservative synods to break from this heresy officially...
True but this is Lutherans biggest sect isn’t it?
