Nor are they the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod.
The ELCA has long given Lutherans a bad rep.
No you aren’t the only person to think that. But nowadays, powers that be in all institutions have decided we need to promote and celebrate all these LGBT peoples. And they get high positions and such actions are said to be making history for equal rights, civil rights etc.

It seems simple. Anyone can come to church, but leadership positions require certain skills and are not for everybody . And significant mental illness is not really a positive when it comes to leadership. But insanity rules these days.

We left soon after the merger and subsequent “studies/votes” on homosexual issues/abortion, etc. But when ELCA helped fund the World Council of Churches sponsored “Re-Imagining Jesus” workshops where they used milk and honey to represent the fluids from a woman instead of bread and wine for communion, a feminist theologian declared there is no need for a bloody Jesus, and other heresies, we were gone. Local church was afraid of keeping our donations local so we left. So glad we did. I grieve for that church and the members left.
