Both women were active-duty soldiers stationed on Fort Bragg, Col Joseph Buccino, a spokesman for the 18th Airborne Corps, told The Fayetteville Observer.
Buccino said Horton was a motorpool clerk assigned to the 525th Military Intelligence Brigade. Horton joined the Army in 2017.
Vinson, of Norfolk, Virginia, was a parachute rigger assigned to the 3rd Special Forces Group. Vinson joined the Army in 2014.
'This is a tragic, senseless loss and a terrible moment, particularly for those here who knew Kelia,' Buccino told the newspaper.
'The command at the 525 Military Intelligence Brigade is organizing grief counseling for Kelia’s fellow soldiers and engaging with the family,' he added.

When I went to Airborne School at Benning, the riggers were always rumored to be strange soldiers and that never made jumps any easier. That was the late ‘80s Army. Nevertheless I guess things haven’t changed but I still would not recognize this new Army.

I have never been real happy about women in combat units.
They sometimes get real cranky every 3-4 weeks, doncha know.
The numbers are even worse when it comes to rape. FBI statistics are that between 15,000 to 30,000 white women are raped annually by Blacks while less than 10 Black women are raped annually by whites. And what was the most notorious fake rape case reported in the last few years? The Duke fake rape with the Black stripper falsely accusing white frat boys and the media going to town with it to try to create the impression that Blacks are constantly raped by whites.

How effective is our military today? I bet we wouldn’t be able to pull off 2003 invasion of Iraq today. Sure. We can probably shock and awe our enemy using our air superiority from our planes and drones. Then we’ll go in with our SEALS. Army Rangers. Other Special Forces. That’s about it.
You could be correct, but another possibility is that the one was jealous that the one that she killed was beautiful. Perhaps a male that decided to dump the murderer and then started a relationship with the dead woman. We may never know.
Years ago I believe riggers had to make an annual jump using a misc. selected chute to prove faith in the quality of their workmanship. I wonder if that is still the case.
