We need to suppress good scientists too. Society needs them to dumb it down.

Great. Those of us who are good at math can make even more bucks.

I have posting about your posted reality whenever someone posts these stories of bad school, bad math and bad science.

That means more job security for our adult offspring, those in college now and those who will be ready for college soon.

I understand what you are saying, but I have 2 problems:

1. This idea that more opportunity for the competent few feeds the argument that is often advanced by tech companies, some GOP, and even some FReepers that there are not enough competent STEM candidates for the openings, so we need to import people from India, China, etc...

2. The Squatter at 1600 has let Trump’s bans expire...No doubt to appease Silicon Valley. Let the tsunami begin...

The influx of unlimited supply of cheap foreign labor has been problematic to STEM careers for decades until Trump. GOP Elite like Mike Lee support expansion of cheap foreign labor...

IMHO this should be an important campaign issue for GOP primaries going forward.

Vonnegut’s Harrison Bergeron was set in 2081. Seems to be another of the leftists’ guides along with Orwell’s 1984.

Caltech is a private institution, and not quite at the whims of the state government compared to Cal or other UCs.

Smart kids will excel in spite of the SJWs.

The dumb kids get a chance to believe they are normal.

It’s just a perpetuation of the great lie and denial of the science of the Bell Curve.

Hey kids! If your IQ is below 110 you’ll never “get” basic algebra no matter how much effort you put into it.

For those under 100, you’ll need a machine to make change your entire life.

Reality.

Run em hard and make em touch the Calculus at the end of 8th grade, and even the advanced math track becomes a free period in high school. I did it to my kids and it works. F Cali.

Let us all suck at math together.

Meanwhile, the Asians will take up the slack.

This is not education, it is dumbing down brainwashing.

It is remarkable how they are practically screaming that minority kids are dumb.

“Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty.

This is known as “bad luck.”

I was growing up when CA schools were among the best in the nation (I graduated from HS in 72). I recall our class reading Animal Farm in 5th grade, and the Count of Monte Cristo in 6th grade. IIRC, most of my classmates and myself tested at 12th grade reading in 6th grade.

Senior year classes included Physics and Calculus, as well.

I don't need to ask "what the hell is going on?". The people in charge are of the same mindset of my classmates who excoriated me for "selling out" for accepting a 4 Year Army ROTC scholarship. I had teachers say to my face how "disappointed" they were in me. One teacher, my calculus teacher, was thrilled for me, because he was a former Jesuit priest who taught at Marquette, and I was matriculating at Gonzaga.

Nowadays, kids that move from California to Texas are 1-2 years behind their peers academically.

My sister stayed in the area, until she got fed up and moved to Reno. The final straw was after she visited us, and saw the brand new school my kids enrolled in. Upon her return to Oakland, she found out the district had no money for desks, so each student was given a clipboard.

When she queried the powers that be, they tried to brush her off with a "sorry, we don't have the money that "whitebread" schools have." She lit into them, saying her inlaws are Hispanic, and there's 50+ nations represented at that school (several international companies have their US HQ in nearby Las Colinas).

LOL, she became a Trump Republican that day, about 20 years before Trump burst onto the scene.

Now, now. That map implies “racist” color-discrimination!

Clearly, Africa should be darker, China more yellow . And the US-UK-EU-Canada-Australia should now be all “pink.”

But South America, North Africa, India, Indonesia-Pacific Islanders! How dare you color them white!

so the Chinese are the true Master Race. Good to know.

Not Necessarily.

There's also a Bell Curve thingy going on, the Chinese Bell is thinner, Caucasian more flat. That is, the average Chinese might be smarter but once you get to genius numbers there are more Caucasian geniuses with higher IQs than Chinese. However the flip side is also true as the higher number of geniuses are balanced out by a a higher number of Caucasian idiots.

When the government chooses to reward equity over excellence, they will end up with neither.

Well, then CA educrats logically will soon have to get rid of all AP (Advanced Placement) courses also, because there certainly is an inequity among the percentage of blacks who take and pass these courses versus the percentage of whites and Asians who take and pass these AP courses.

California's Department of Education is working on a new framework for K-12 mathematics that discourages gifted students from enrolling in accelerated classes that study advanced concepts like calculus.

Unsaid, but no doubt true...

...and encourages the stupid students to take their places in the accelerated classes.
