Wonder how this is going to work for defense contractors who have to have clearances that require background checks?An amusing anecdote: I worked on a program doing mission planning systems for a UK military branch. The code included very detailed aircraft performance calculations to get the mission planning spot on. It's software used in programs like "Top Gun". We had an applicant for a position writing software for the program who was a habitual marijuana smoker. Really? Software that could splash a $20 million jet fighter authored by a chronic marijuana user? Nope. Not happening.

Investigations will still be required for any contractor employee needing a security clearance to perform their job. No stupid law passed by these nitwits is going to change that.
