There are growing concerns that the mass retirements of police officers throughout the country may lead to a national public safety crisis.
Between losing experienced law enforcement personnel and not having enough officers, some are suggesting the mass exodus will compromise people’s safety, especially in major U.S. cities.

I’m sure there’s room in the Proud Boys and the Oathkeepers for all these disillusioned sheepdogs.
I didn’t say burning rubble.
It may help, however, to not be handing money over to them.
Maybe being in charge wouldn’t look so attractive to them without all of the free loot.
In other words:
Fracking with Trump as President = Good
Fracking for Democrats = Suicide
Perfect...THAT’S when the Liberals trot out their ‘praetorians’ !!!!
The damage to every American will be SO bad that every one of us will need a bath tub to s@*t in!
The closer that comes, the more I almost believe that any ‘Republicans’ SO apathetic, actually deserve it.
“The relaxation of standards for new recruits due to the push for more diversity will lead to even bigger problems. “
guaranteed to produce a death spiral in police departments, as lowered standards result in increased number of mal-policing incidentsfrom marginal (or worse) police, resulting in greater numbers of professionals leaving the profession, resulting even poorer candiates, and so forth ...
Another solution is for the police to pick a side, and stick with it. They could declare that if somebody shoots a known thug, they will not care, they will not investigate, and they will not arrest.
No, you did not.
It is important to remember that Leftists will not be deterred by warnings of catastrophic failure. They won't even be deterred by the reality of catastrophic failure.
Any variation of "...and then they will be sorry" isn't going to work and is merely a pleasant distraction from considering what needs to be done.
Harden your heart.
My son graduates the police academy in three weeks to an uncertain career. I have always taught him about the Bill of Rights and respecting them, encouraged him that if he wants this career to be Andy, not Barney and he’s always had instincts even as a kid of protecting those who couldn’t protect themselves.
He entered this profession knowing the left hated his guts and now sadly many so-called conservatives hate him simply for wearing the uniform and for the actions of a few officers. I’ve heard FR’s who sound like BLM/Marxist thugs raging with their hate of cops on here, it’s sickening the abuse heaped on these officers if just one screws up.
Yesterday a new class entered the academy and he as a squad leader in his class was tasked to show them around the campus and give them a day to day routine rundown. He said one candidate didn’t unpack his car and got in and left upon being dismissed. What’s interesting is this guy was from my sons own department. He made the statement last weekend that upon meeting the recruits going to the academy he didn’t think any would cut it. So far he is one for three and one week in with this class on his prediction.
Why would anyone want to sign up for the sh*t storm that comes their way from the left and right? The result will be a dumbing down of the standards as you state and even worse officers and behavior and their eventual absorption into a federal police force and the left and some on the right have only themselves to blame.
Chief of Police of my city lives next door to me.
Head of our county sheriff’s aviation unit lives three doors down.
6 other homes in my hood of 100 has law enforcement living their and I am happy to have em ALL as my neighbors.
My thoughts exactly. We will soon have a National Police Force. Shades of 1939 Germany. Answerable only to whoever is being the curtain.
I’m glad you feel comfortable with LE all around you. You have “molon labe” in your tag. Who is molon labe intended for? Just curious.
Would you feel just as good if you were living next to federal LE?
So the message is loud and clear. When push comes to bloody shove in end-stage America, under the rule of the anarcho-tyrants, we, the law-abiding, are the enemy. Those in uniform sworn to protect and serve will turn their backs on us because their bosses don’t answer to the public. They protect and serve the mob.
-Michelle Malkin
Malkin learns slow. This sentence has been true since the 19th century:
Those in uniform sworn to protect and serve will turn their backs on us because their bosses don’t answer to the public.
Who GAF? Police have no mandate to protect. They always show up after the fact. There are very few times that Police show up that they don’t make the situation worse....
Be aware and protect yourself and your family.
Exactly right. We’re at the point now where it’s impossible to fix peacefully. Look how quickly things have changed in a few short years.
We have been hoodwinked by our elected leaders who were afraid to play hard and take it to their level.
Now our country is in the end stage and it’s going to be one hell of a ride. America’s reign on the world stage is in the final stage. Sadly, I think LE has shown us that we are on our own.
I Agree. Additionally, If people knew what goes into applying, its ridiculous. With that said. Why would anyone jeopardize their livelihood after going through the intense hazing of the application and testing process, the academy and the probation period?
Anyone in that persons past can say ANYTHING against the recruit with no consequences if a lie had been told. Then, the officer is held civilay and criminally liable (and sometimes Federally) for ANY infractions while on the job. Its a job that you have to PERFECT 100% of the time, on and off duty. Its a sacrifice to the wolves.
Places where folks have weapons are far less likely to have assaults, robberies, etc.
Who do I fear taking my guns? Democrats. It’s what they do.
If your neighbor cops are democrats and hate guns, then what? I’m not trying to troll but I think it’s an interesting position.
We can all agree that we need police. I think a lot of open-minded people understand that we need some sort of reform. I don’t want to live in a police state and I don’t want my kids to either.
There was a time when conservatives supported police almost in unison, today—not so much. They have done a lot of damage to their reputation and it isn’t from the high profile cases that are blasted in the MSM, it’s from the general public’s interaction with them.
Again, the whole “molon labe” thing is interesting from a police support position. After all, it will be the police that come for the guns, not democrats dressed in suits and ties with a DNC ID on a lanyard around their neck.
Eventually you are not going to find anyone who will do this job no matter what the pay, it’s not going to be worth it. My son had two uncles who were officers, one has passed and the other one begged him don’t go into law enforcement. He told him jerks on both sides of the political scene will be after you even if you don’t screw up.
He is a staunch conservative with nearly forty years of service but had become so jaded by both sides of the political aisle: his view was they are ungrateful, love to Monday morning quarterback, don’t know the law or crap about police policy and procedures, they won’t wait for the investigation to run it’s course with due process, they absolutely don’t have your back when you need them and they will damn all cops for one bad one or if they make a mistake no matter what they say. He was like F’em all they are not worth the effort anymore, take care of your own family.
I agree, I know quite a few in law enforcement in all levels. They ALL have said they will not allow their children to go into law enforcement. Its vicious and basically a lose lose situation.
Take Care & God Bless
