$30,000 a year. To empty trash.
Retail is having trouble with staffing. Too many are enjoying their ebt, stimulus and enhanced unemployment. Trump understood the risk to the economy long term. If we really do jump to 15 as a minimum wage, many who worked their way up will suddenly have had their skills and experience diluted.
Officially, yes.
Unofficially, wrong. Most union shops will force their wages up indexed to the fed wage.
Soooooo social security is 2400$ a month now ? And bread is 30$ a loaf ?
I had an uncle who worked at a bakery.
He was a loafer.
He made lots of dough.................
Me for one.......................
Thank you for shopping at GOVERNMENT where you expect less and pay more!
This isn’t designed the working poor.
Anyone relying on a private sector minimum wage job better have a Plan B on stand by.
Designed to help...
This means a janitor cleaning toilets in an Army base somewhere in Arkansas will be making $15 an hour (double the average wage for rural Arkansas).
I think the chicken chokers get about 12 bucks an hour to start.
My wife’s sister lives near one of the processing plants on the MO/AR border.
It’s been a strange progression.
The Mexicans displaced all the white hilljacks.
Then Somalis displaced all the Mexicans.
So you go into town and all the signs are Spanish and Arabic.
Remember you get what you pay for. (Note: Does not apply to GOVERNMENT)....................
And Trump agreed most or all of those contracts consider that Biden has been in office for only 100 days. Anyway, the impact is likely minimal.
Why not?
I’m not talking about just government contracts, but ALL civilian contracts, like UAW and AFL-CIO, Teamsters, et al.......................
If a person can get $15 an hour and benefits working for the government, why would they work for a private company that wants to offer them less, and no benefits, and states it would allow that? I’m thinking directly of Nevada as an example. I think this is not a bad move on Biden’s part, it lessens the pressure for raising the national minimum wage, which I’ve never had an objection to anyway. The impact to the tax pair is going to be low, and if this does force wages up a bit for everybody, that’s good. I think our bigger challenge is to ensure that these jobs only go to legal US citizens and residents. No illegal aliens. We need to implement E-Verify and also stop issuing work permits at the border!
Go it
My understanding of the Davis Bacon act would be NO. It is supposed to be set by the “prevailing” wages in an area.
But what does that matter. We are in the land of executive order. funny, whenever trump did one, there were a million suits to stymie them. This clown, NADA.
Face it the nation is lost as no one seems interested in stopping these extremists. It is bread and circuses for all, till the bill comes due. By then, the dems and their cohort RINOs will be living comfortably on a beach.
Good Gawd! This is 0bama all over again! It was a NIGHTMARE; I was running a multi-million dollar business during those years. It. Sucked. As will this! Feckin' Socialist Democrats! *SPIT*
Plan accordingly, FRiends!
