This isn’t designed the working poor.
Anyone relying on a private sector minimum wage job better have a Plan B on stand by.

That’s the problem: These entry level jobs were designed to be part-time and for teens, young people and in my area retirees - as an entrĂ© for the non-skilled into the working world. MacDonald’s taught these workers valuable skills such as showing up on time, cleanliness, neat appearance, listening to a boss or manager. College allowed them to move out of those jobs into something better. The opportunities are there.
Problem is, too many adults that have these minimum wage jobs consider them careers, and have no intention of “bettering themselves” and moving up - and demand a living wage.
The leftist call private businesses “greedy corporations,” just as the Soviets did, and demand they pay a $15/hour wage. The supermarkets and corporations are fighting back by mechanizing as much as possible and using self-service whenever they can.
This is especially acute in California where the local pols have driven up minimum wage - along with oppressive regulations.
