Is Virginia going to close Thomas Jefferson magnet high school? This is an elite four year high school in a Northern Virginia suburb which only takes brilliant students.

Maybe they will not have advanced versions of the same courses, but will put more advanced students into these classes in earlier grades than others. This would be a terrible idea. Regardless of the student's age, the work of an average math class, such as Algebra 1 or Geometry would be much too easy for some students and too difficult for some others.

All this is simply entrenchment by the liberal class to ensure their advantages over the rest of the population. They are still going to send their kid to private schools to learn advanced topics.

"Math is racist!" is just a joke, right?

Or did that expire last week?

Can you show your work?

All that matters is your ability to justify your reasoning. The correct answer is not relevant.

My sister has been teaching math to middle school and high school kids for over 40 years. She gets amazing results. But she is a dying breed. The administrivia has gone up 25X during her career and teachers are micromanaged to a degree you wouldn’t believe. The average tenure for a teacher is now less than five years because nobody can take the oppressive administration telling you how to do your job. Teachers colleges are being shut down because nobody is going into teaching. The young, recently hired teachers all subscribe to the woke bullshit and educational fads and really don’t know how to teach. The math teaching industry is governed by the latest fads and there is at least one new fad every year that requires throwing out all previous curricula and substituting arcane, incomprehensible, nonsensical garbage for basic math. Year after year, the teachers are blamed for worse and worse performance.

If you could get rid of 90% of administrators tomorrow, get rid of 75% of the standardized tests, get the CRT crap out of the schools, and let teachers do what they are paid to do, test scores would rapidly rise to historical norms.

The insider’s view of the education industry is astonishing. Fixing this isn’t rocket science.

Relax; higher math will come back as soon as the Chinese are running things. It won’t be so good for those planning thug careers, however. Chinese are quite solid on law and order.

White and Asian parents will find online advanced math AND use tutors at an even higher rate than they do now. Private and charter schools will continue their rapid growth.

With this at best an incoming college freshman will be taking Algebra 2 which for a bright student should be done in 10th grade or earlier so that they are ready for calculus in college.

>That is insane<

Fortunately, Virginia has a good number of private schools. But it’s ridiculous to punish kids whose parents do not make enough to take advantage for their youngsters.

Basically it’s going to wind up that no white kids will be in public schools. But their parents will still get to pay the property taxes for them.

This rumor is false.

Advanced math courses (i.e. Calculus) will be offered in 11th and 12th grades in Virginia.

What’s changed is that advanced math courses won’t be offered in the lower grades now because Virginia wants everyone on track into Calculus in high school.

In Europe all students are given a test in 6th grade that determines whether they can go to one of three levels of education. Level one you work low blue collar. Level two prepared for white collar or managers slots.

The highest level prepares for science and technology and high levels of leadership. My belief is that this is the goal to end up dictating life possibilities to make citizens control easier. Europeans have bought into this and are happy to have this level of control.

It's social science, and the leaders are either incompetent or malicious reprobates. I personally think they are malicious reprobates, this is a deliberate effort to harm society.

“deliberate effort to harm society”

Yep, but it is far worse. It’s a deliberate effort to destroy all of Western Civilization.
