Joy Behar said Thursday’s broadcast of ABC’s “The View” that the police should have shot their firearm into the air as a warning instated of killing Ma’Khia Bryant during a knife fight in Columbus, OH.
In a video CNN host Don Lemon said, “Base each incident on what we see. When I look at this video, I see police responding to a dangerous incident where someone is armed with a knife. Police walked up on a situation, and they need to figure out what is happening. Other lives are in danger. We need to be honest and use our common sense. We cannot have a double standard. We have to acknowledge that police have jobs to do.”

Joy can’t explain it - because she has a blind spot to black on black crime.
Everyone knows that your not supposed to bring a knife to gun fight.
However, based upon this incident it is clear that the police should be trained to not to bring their guns to knife fight. I suggest that the the DOJ provide grants to each city, county state police agency to overcome this learned behavior of intervention in private squabbles between people of color. Perhaps develop flip charts to carry in their patrol cars so when they roll up on situation they can quickly refer to them so they can react more as a referee. They could use a point system if the squabble has multiple participants representing multiple cultures.
Obviously white people would rank last, thus giving the other minority participants greater flexibility to use during the psychical assault as they relieve their pent up frustration with systemic racism and white privilege.
Why didn’t the cop just use a giant magnet to get the knife out of her hands??
How about these savages stop acting like savages?
Exactly. When someone pulls the trigger, they are responsible for whatever that bullet hits. What goes up will come down again.
Someone should ask Joy whether she is aware of Newton’s Law or whether she refused to learn it because it was ‘too white’.
And the bullet goes where?
Just disappears or lands somewhere, potentially striking someone else?
Nope, aim at the perp and no one else gets hurt.
And how does everyone know he didn’t shoot to disarm and she moved into position to get herself killed?
Who watches her? And where is Rachel Madcow?
But who watches her? What’s her audience?
Shoot gun in the air so the bullet comes down god knows where and possibly injure of kill a true innocent.... Stupid.
Captain Ahab needs to harpoon her.
It takes very hard work to be that stupid.
Funny she hasn’t mentioned how hard she works.
Joy(less) Behar; Police should shoot that goon on the air.
It appears that she is being mentored by LeBron James. They must have a combined IQ of 70. The worst part is, in addition to being ignorant, they are spewing their stupidity like a weed sprayer.
What a bumb ditch
“They go down at the same speed they went up.”
Not hardly - terminal velocity depends on the angle fired. Higher the angle the slower the terminal velocity. Straight up or 90° then it’s minimal but fast enough to injure or kill.
Would be ironic if the bullet fell from the sky and killed the same kid.
Why didn’t the cop just use a giant magnet to get the knife out of her hands??
I like your method. It beats yelling “Stop, in the name of the law”.
How, exactly, does that stop that evil knife from stabbing that helpless girl?
Why didn’t he just shoot the knife out of her hand? /s
Cops just need to walk away from black on black confrontations. Let them clean up their own mess if they hate law enforcement so much.
No...no they don't.
Bullets have various velocities based on size, amount of powder, etc. A velocity of 1000 feet per second is not uncommon for a .45 ACP. Once it has reached it's apex and starts coming down, gravity and air density are the determinates of speed. The bullet will fall at closer to 300 feet per second.
That can still kill you, but it is not as fast as it went up.
