Well, we seem to have survived the first day and 1/2 without major national rioting. I was at work in 1968 after MLK was murdered. We were all sent home early, and my husband and I left town to stay with my parents because the looters were running down our street. I think there are enough activists who really want to keep things under control, that on the whole they will be successful with the conviction verdict. I know there are white student riots in my area when some college sports teams win.
Some of the other offices may do better on trial. Especially officer Lane who had only been with that squad a few days, and I believe was the one who was saying there was no pulse.

He once made a BIG mistake, one which alienated a lot of the corporation’s customers.
The next day, when we came back to work and were dealing with all the blowback, he didn’t apologize, blame anyone, or make excuses.
He said, “I made a mistake. Here’s what we’re going to do NOW.”
We can’t dwell on the past. We have to figure out what went wrong, and think about what we can do to get the future right.
