Former President Donald Trump urged Americans to get vaccinated against the coronavirus in a Monday night interview where he again criticized the federal pause of the Johnson & Johnson jab.
“I encourage them to take it,” Trump told Fox News’ Sean Hannity in an hour-long sit-down interview, referring to the COVID-19 vaccine.
Trump, who was stricken with coronavirus last October, has received his vaccine. He added that the drug companies “all want me to do a commercial because a lot of our people don’t want to take the vaccine.”

No. The vaccine can have long lasting impacts on immunity (not all for the good) that often start cropping up at the 3 to 6 month window, but can gradually worsen. So without any long term studies, and just going from the research on mRNA vaccines (Hiv Hep C, Other Corona Viruses), it is not likely to be anywhere near 90%.
Fauci/CDC said upon introduction that the vaccines would not prevent spread or infection, but would lessen the severity, and they didn’t say ‘by 95%’. Their promotional materials garble this intentionally.
There is a managing editor of a British medical journal that was trying to get raw data from Moderna or Pfizer (one of them) because the company had not released it (odd) and was releasing fragments, and even then the fragments didn’t come near 90%. It shouldn’t be this hard to get information or facts or a straight story from all involved.

Even the best marketing department in the world, Pfizer, isn't reckless enough to make that statement.
The 90% is a relatively early plateau and then slowly trails off, similar (but not identical to) flu shots. If booster shots in a year, or maybe 6-9 months are not needed, I’d be mildly surprised.
Nothing I saw ever said “would lessen severity” by ANY %. How the heck would anyone measure that? The 90% was reduction in severe cases. Granted, I’ve not seen a definition of severe case.
Also granted there seem to be a variety of numbers around. Perhaps citing such numbers is a sort of short cut explanation anyway. What really convinces me are the COVID fatality curves in countries doing a good job of getting the vaccines out. Particularly Israel and the UK. Either the vaccines + natural herd immunity are doing a good job there, or there is some sort of worldwide conspiracy going on (which would be impossible to suppress and I don’t think in fruitcake land, so I dismiss that possibility.)
However if we did not have a vaccine where would we be at this point? Still is total lockdown with no light at the end of the tunnel? At least (here in Florida) things are pretty much open because of it.

The experiment as I see it is avoiding the known percentages. Covid-19 hits the elderly, the current cancer treatments, the infusion chemo, the pill chemo, the major surgery, the stage three, the past 70, the major weight loss and other co-morbidities with higher percentages of death. I have ALL of those conditions.
The mRNA doesn’t appear to give immunity but does lessen severity, is the criticism. With my co-morbidities that is exactly my minimum need.
