“...who lost the most lopsided presidential election after bluntly telling voters to expect a tax increase if he won...”
Hell, he’d win in a landslide with today’s fools.
Mondale? Hmm, spinach or broccoli? "Oliver!" is on TCM, tonight...
RIP
Another miserable tax and spend sack of crap bites the dust. Adios, Wally.
Mondale changed my life.
I never even considered a Rat for anything after seeing his ‘84’ campaign for President.
Good riddance.
Yeah … a generational thing, his daughter was screwing Bill Clinton. Bill didn’t miss out … he tried to screw them all.. she was low fruit.
Nothing to say but RIP
I was never a fan of Mondale when he was Carter’s VP, but giving credit where credit is due, he did an excellent job as US Ambassador to Japan — at least according to American businessmen I know who operate here in Tokyo.
RIP Mr. Mondale.
I expected for Bob Dole to leave the ‘waiting room’ first.
Ya never know.
Decent man. This was back when you could hate a man’s politics, but at least he was not a raging lunatic.
Hey. If it had not been for Mondale we might never had gotten Reagan. Despite his politics he seemed like a descent man. R.I.P. Walter.
Theirs was the first presidential ticket I voted for as a naive young man getting ready to join the Air Force. By the end of my hitch, my entire worldview had reversed and I voted for Ronald Reagan.
Proudly voted against him in 84 but must say he was nothing like the America haters of today, he was a vet. RIP.
RIP.
My first Presidential election was in ‘84. Though a Minnesotan, I voted for Reagan.
I voted against Mondale every time he was up for re-election to the board of directors in a company I owned shares of.
In 2002, I voted against him when he ran in the special election after Paul Wellstone’s death in a plane crash.
He’ll still be voting.
Wish Carter would reduce CO2 emissions. If all liberals immediately ceased CO2 emissions, we would have a better world.
Good riddance to Mondale! Is that harsh? I don’t care.
Let the games begin!
