Mondale was responsible for lowering the Filibuster canceling threshold from 2/3 to 6/10.

A politician from a time when Dems and Reps disagreed about the direction of the country, but without the Woke left completely hating it as illegitimate.
The country will be poorer for the absence of such as he.

Give him a break. He wasn’t too bad. He lost like republicans lose-with dignity.

Mondale was a stunningly boring speaker—he whined instead of spoke...a pathetic loser.

Agreed. While I disagreed with his positions on public policy, Fritz was a decent guy.

I got to give him credit. When he debated Reagan, and Reagan made that joke about not holding his youth and inexperience against him, He laughed at the joke. You wouldn’t see a communist today laugh.

I remember he said “where’s the beef” about his primary campaign opponent Gary Hart. The implication apparently that Hart was unqualified to be president, but that Mondale himself was supremely qualified for the office.

Will there be riots at the University of Minnesota Law School over this? IIRC their law building is named after him.
