At this point in the pandemic, there is more good news than bad. Yet, our leading health officials are doing everything they can to convince the public otherwise.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released a study late last week that says almost half of all U.S. adults have received at least one vaccine shot. More than 80% of vulnerable senior citizens have received one vaccine shot, and more than 65% of seniors have been fully vaccinated. In other words, herd immunity is well within reach — if we haven’t reached it already — and the most at-risk population is now safe from this virus.

It’s maddening. Rarest wife likes to ask if they had their pap smear or prostate exam yet and if not to tell us when they do, cuz, ya know, we all need to know about their health details.
Apparently right about now in Virginia, everyone over 18 and with a cell phone is being pestered by the government.
Per Mark Twain: “No amount of evidence will ever persuade an idiot(s).” “They” can be shown microscopic proof that the masks do NOT prevent passage of the virus. They’ll fight you over it regardless.
I seem to see people around me suddenly panicking more than ever. I have no idea why, but their fear seems to be in hyperdrive all of a sudden. I guess they got a memo.
We are told we still need to wear masks, even if vaccinated.
And we are told that these variants have sprung up, and we need to be worried about the variants now. We are told we don’t know if the vaccines work against the variants.
Will it ever end?
And to think it all started, with “two weeks to flatten the curve”. Two weeks turned into well over a year, and no end in sight, in some states, to restrictions and lockdowns.
And we are told that other countries are experiencing 2nd and 3rd waves, and that this is in our future.
Lots of fear is being spread. What is spreading more? The virus, or the fear?
In places like India and Brazil the virus is hitting younger people fairly hard.
Joe Biden is leaving our southern border unsecure.
It is quite likely that virus variants from the Third World will enter the US and spread, sickening many of our younger people with variants that make young people far sicker than common variants now in the US.
I just got that message. Thought it was a weather alert.
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is why everyone is on edge.
The Biden administration has not developed a plan to control variant creation and spread in the Third World, despite pleas from foreign experts.

I’ve read that effectiveness against well-recognized foreign variants (Brazilian, South African) ranges from fairly good to very good.
I wasn’t able to research the topic fully before I got a chance to get the Moderna vaccine, which I was able to get, with about two minutes to spare in my two-hour acceptance window.

As there’s been lots of evidence the COVID tests have a large false positive problem - I’m also supposed to believe that they can differentiate between “UK, Brazilian, and South African” strains?
Color me skeptical.
