A 20-year-old man was fatally shot during a traffic stop after a Minnesota police officer shouted "Taser!" but fired a handgun instead of the non-lethal stun gun, Brooklyn Center Police Chief Tim Gannon said.

Why was she shooting him anyway? Stopping him for an air freshener hanging from mirror, as an early report suggests, seems ridiculous. The video shows her in the guy’s face, hyped on anger or a power-trip. She’s now killed a guy on camera and should face justice.

I'm not clicking through on a CNN link (frankly I don't think CNN should ever get posted here), so hopefully somebody can explain the full context of this incident and how a taser came to be involved in the first place.
I've been involved in a few traffic stops over the years and tasers have never been part of them!
