The National Guard was deployed in Minneapolis as hundreds of people looted and rioted into the early hours Monday after a black man was shot dead while trying to flee arrest less than 10 miles from where George Floyd died.
The fatal shooting of 20-year-old Daunte Wright in Brooklyn Center came as the Twin Cities was already in a state of high alert over the trial of ex-cop Derek Chauvin, charged with Floyd’s murder last May.
Wright, who had an outstanding warrant, had been pulled over around 2 p.m. Sunday — and was shot after jumping back in his car and trying to race away, crashing to a stop after driving several blocks, police said.
His mother had quickly raced to the scene — and called for calm as crowds soon joined her there, local media said.
But within hours, at least 500 protesters had taken to the streets, according to the Star Tribune — many looting and trashing up to at least 20 stores, officials later revealed.

Are they there to keep Patriots and property owners from protecting what’s theirs? Otherwise, they may be doing what they’re supposed to be doing. I’m sure they’ve been on standby for the Chauvin verdict.
The street savages couldn’t wait until the end of the Chauvin trial. They really needed those new sneakers, the malt liquor, the flat panel TVs.
This riot will be given full support by the democrats in power until the Chauvin riots, and 2021 will be the summer of street savage riots.

No, they weren't protesters, they were rioters.
Just saw the video of this encounter on the news, and in this case, the police looked very very wrong.
Four things stood out for me as I read the article:
1. Wright was shot about 2pm.
2. Within hours protesters took to the streets.
3. “At about 11:30 p.m., Brooklyn Center police declared the crowd an unlawful assembly...”
4. “The National Guard was deployed and arrived just before midnight...”
In other words the NG arrived after the police had told every one to go home.
Why wasn’t the NG deployed earlier? Would the protesters have trashed stores, etc. if the NG was there?
Let this be a lesson for Minneapolis when the Chauvin trial concludes as there will be massive rioting no matter the outcome.
If folks are trashing stores, the authorities clearly have lost control of the situation.
What’s the point of calling in the National Guard?
They won’t be allowed to do their job.
Just sit back and watch Minneapolistan burn to the ground.

What happened to Minneapolis. They were never in the news when it was populated mostly by people of Scandinavian descent. Now they seem to be the capital of crime.

Meanwhile the FBI continues their silly search for radical white supremacists who staged a coup at the Capitol.
Don’t spoil it for the “No such thing as a bad shoot (unless it’s a black cop shooting a white person” bootlickers around here. Everyone shot by cops during a traffic stop deserves to die, particularly if they are black according to most around here.
