The Biden White House has released a preview of President Joe Biden's executive actions on gun control, which he plans to sign Thursday afternoon. The administration is also arguing additional gun control is needed to fight a "public health" crisis and pushing hard for "red flag laws," which often violate civil liberties.
"Today, the Biden-Harris Administration is announcing six initial actions to address the gun violence public health epidemic," the White House released late Wednesday. "This Administration will not wait for Congress to act to take its own steps."
Here are the six actions, from the White House "fact sheet."
The Justice Department, within 30 days, will issue a proposed rule to help stop the proliferation of “ghost guns.”
The Justice Department, within 60 days, will issue a proposed rule to make clear when a device marketed as a stabilizing brace effectively turns a pistol into a short-barreled rifle subject to the requirements of the National Firearms Act.
The Justice Department, within 60 days, will publish model “red flag” legislation for states.
The Administration is investing in evidence-based community violence interventions.
The Justice Department will issue an annual report on firearms trafficking.
The President will nominate David Chipman to serve as Director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms.
Biden's choice for ATF Director, David Chipman, is a longtime gun control activist who has done extensive lobbying for anti-Second Amendment groups funded by former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and the Giffords Law Center. He was also involved in the Branch Davidian trial after the government -- specifically ATF and FBI -- botched a raid in Waco, Texas. Bad decisions made by federal agents ultimately resulted in the deaths of 76 people, including pregnant women and dozens of children.

It mentions the BATF, which usually ends up with dead citizens.

How about how many people flagged by background checks vs. how many prosecuted? Or, incidents of gun violence by county or city with reference to party responsible.
Typical political meaningless word salad. investing what?, evidence of what?, what community?, all violence or just shootings?, intervention as in Waco or Ruby Ridge?

No, it’s not all the list of bad things-—just the start.
But “giving” Red Flag legislation “to the states” is fishy.
So a guy and his ex have a big confrontation when she sees him with his new love at the coffee place and starts screaming at him and her.
He never said a mean word to her but backed away from the relationship because she has delusions and got off her psych meds.
She alerts to Red Flag enforcers “he is a Trump supporter, probably psychotic, he owns guns and practices at a range, and now has threatened to kill me if I don’t ride with him to shoot up DC.” “We’ll be right over at 4 am with a SWAT team, ms. Calm down.”
Time for gun sanctuary counties. Screw the Feds just like the libs did for everything Trump tried to do. Works for them. Works for us. Let them belly ache.
This is the root of all gun control. Everyone knows if you want to get rid of a weed for good you must pull it out by the root and the root here is the NFA and the GCA. These two laws the first in 1934 started every single law and regulation on firearms and they are both 100% illegal and unconstitutional. States and the people need to be clear on some simple facts.
The federal government has no authority whatsoever to control, ban or regulate any type of firearm in any capacity whatsoever. The federal government has no authority to conduct a background check, no authority to require any form to be filled out, no authority to maintain records of any kind and no authority to license any type of firearm activity. The people have the god given right to own machine guns, grenade launchers, short barrel rifles and shotguns, sound suppressors, armor piercing ammunition, and firearms of any caliber, any size and any shape.
States must take action to nullify ALL federal gun laws and pass legislation making any attempt by any agent of the federal government to enforce any firearms law a felony with mandatory prison time if convicted.
It probably isn’t, and a bunch of states have said they won’t abide by unconstitutional edicts. The whole purpose of these moves is to provoke someone to violence. They can then use that to crack down on more people as they did after the January 6 “insurrection”.
Yeah, I really believed the reason for all the police and NG around DC was because of their gun grabbing plans would be absolutely draconian.. But, this could be just the beginning.. Boil the frog kind of thing...
Nothing much here and it will all be challenged in court.
Yeah, braces, then binary triggers, and maybe revisit bump stocks. Actually, since that didn’t work for Trump, why should this work for Biden?
If only HR-1 and the multi-trillion bogus “stimulus” would go down the drain. They are the most damaging of all proposed legislation.
Ah, it’s not like we were ever gonna use them to defend ourselves from govt or fight back against govt tyranny.
Hell, we watched our most treasured statues get destroyed.
We watched cities burn.
We watched a first coup.
We watched a Second Successful Coup and the Stealing of the Presidency.
We let them shut down our country for a year.
I learned from the past year that there are millions of fake tough gays in the country.
Myself included. I didn’t fight back.
But I don’t still talk like an idiot about CWII and taking back our country.
We didn’t have the guts.
And that’s a terrible shame.
