I saw a perfectly composed and unemotional Chauvin when I watched those videos. I doubt I’d have remained calm during the arrest and GF’s constant whining. Chauvin had been a cop for 18 years so I’m sure he was autopilot the entire time. And how should those witnesses have stopped Chauvin anyway? Interfering with an arrest is a crime.

Do you honestly expect Chauvin to walk?

“Blood choke”. Scientifically meaningless but emotionally charged term.

.
.

Same thing I thought. Who is this person an MMA fighter or something who has no knowledge of the actual SCIENCE ie...medical report? HE is their expert?

he’s going to jail but it won’t have much to do with evidence. The knee is something they are trained to do on that police force...FACT!

But that would have caused him to lose consciousness, not complain about not bring able to breathe.

Which is why it would be better for him to plead manslaughter and get out of court as fast as he can.

No I did not watch the video before today. I saw clips of it and clips of the videos the defense will probably enter into evidence. But I never saw the video of him on the ground with Chauvin in his neck in it’s entirety until this morning as I was getting ready for work.

My gut reaction was that this was not normal police procedure and that Chauvin had a complete disregard for the life of Floyd. Maybe there’s some mitigating evidence that will get Chauvin a lower sentence, but he’s going down. There’s not a jury in America that would not send him to jail.

The problem the prosecution has in getting a conviction of some murder charge is not what the city needs to worry about. He will be found guilty. But if it’s not the most serious charge, he’s got a riot on his hands.

Nobody is going to win this case. No matter what the verdict the city will burn.

That being said, there is no way the jury comes back with not guilty on all charges. No way.

Is that offer on the table? I don’t think it ever was. If the word “murder” is not included in the plea bargain, there is no way the prosecution would agree to it.

Would it not be scientifically possible to cut off blood supply the brain by applying excessive pressure to the carotid artery?

WOW! High and deep 💩. Sadly we know the outcome no matter the verdict. Celebratory destruction or angry destruction. 😡

If anyone like me is on the jury, the verdict is ‘not guilty’. Not because I necessarily think the cop is blameless, but because I actually don’t care when thugs get killed - no matter the cause.

I used to get jury duty summonses every year. During my last voir dire, I was seated until the judge asked if I would follow his instructions if given by the judge. I responded that it would depend on the instructions. I was excused. I haven’t received a summons since.

Until 1964 the formula was to win elections by scaring white people about the threat posed to them by black people. Since 1964 the formula has been to win elections by scaring black people about the threat posed to them by white people.

Same formula, different boogeyman.

Officer Chauvin followed officially approved Minneapolis Police procedures, and the autopsy showed Mr Floyd died from fentanyl poisoning, not neck compression. It’s a disgrace that Chauvin is on trial, but it wouldn’t surprise me if he gets convicted, because there are a lot of people in this world who are incapable of rational thought.

Following procedure is a very weak defense.
